Jamie Paul will return to his leading role in two performances of The Ruby Slippers on 2 July.
The Ruby Slippers is described as a comedy drama and LGBTQ+ love story set in a Blackpool drag club with a funny and intimate take on love, friendship, and identity in LGBTQ+ life. The show has previously sold out during its run in the north-west of England, and will now feature at the Arts Theatre West End for one night only.
The story follows Raz (James Rogerson), the owner of the Ruby Slippers club, and the man of his dreams, Ryan (Jamie Paul). With a rival club threatening to steal away Raz’s customers and star acts, drag queens Phoenix and Destiny (Jordan Simms and Owen Farrow), Raz’s only hope for his business and relationship is the power of love.

Jamie will continue in the role of Ryan after earlier performances last year. Whilst the plot explores serious LGBTQ+ themes, it also promises hilarity and camp glamour.
Speaking to TenEighty, Jamie said: “The play is so brilliant to me because it deals with such an honest and tender love story and the complexities of each character, but it is done so well that the humour of the piece really shines through, despite the drama. It is such a funny, outrageous play that has such honest well-written characters in it.
“I’ve been very lucky to play this role three times now. We started this process three years ago and have gone from a tiny 60-seat theatre in Liverpool to a sell-out tour of the north, and now to the West End.”
The Ruby Slippers will be performed twice on 2 July 2017 at the Arts Theatre West End. Tickets are still available.
