Oh, look, it’s that time of year again!
Time to buy flowers, make an amazing breakfast, and finally help out with the dishes – yes, it’s Mother’s Day… umm, well no, it’s the day after, but that doesn’t mean you can’t do all these things! It’s the least you can do for your loving mum, after all. And you know who else loves their mothers? YouTubers! Loads of our faves spent 26 March showing their mums just how much they appreciate them, and since it’s 2017, they obviously had to share this appreciation on social media for us all to see. And since we’re TenEighty, we had to collect some of their tweets to share with you. Enjoy!
Electricity is a fickle friend
Happy Mother's Day Mum! Thanks for giving birth to me and for telling me not to put forks in the toaster pic.twitter.com/6U3yw0MND3
— Phil Lester (@AmazingPhil) March 26, 2017
Many of us can definitely point to a time in our life where our mums have saved us from a spot of trouble. Although, for must of us, that meant being told to wear our coats when we leave the house as “it’s a bit chilly outside”. For Phil Lester, on the other hand, that meant his mum helping him avoid electrocution.
Thank you, Mama Lester!
Food makes the heart grow fonder
Mother's Day meal that Jamie put together for my Mum and Nan yesterday! The heart puff pas… https://t.co/OSFSESwXXi pic.twitter.com/uvhItWgD7l
— Tom Burns (@TomRPI) March 27, 2017
Leave it to Jamie Jo to show off her cooking skills by cooking a delicious looking dinner for Tom Burns‘s mum and nan. Hey Jamie, would you mind sending us the recipe? For scientific reasons, obviously, not because we want to steal it and claim it as our own… What? We have to impress our mums somehow!
Oops…
This kind of thing only happens to me. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 pic.twitter.com/KCmUQTaNUl
— Louise (@LouisePentland) March 26, 2017
Even in a bad situation, Louise Pentland always brings the humour we know and love her for. Although, we can quite honestly say that setting a table on fire hasn’t been a regular feature in our Mother’s Days thus far. But hey, we’re still young! It’s quite possible it could still happen.
Shoutout to all the single mothers out there
My mum brought me up by herself and as far as I can see, I turned out pretty well. She's the strongest woman I know. Happy Mother's Day, mum
— Pete Bucknall (@petesjams) March 26, 2017
We can’t imagine raising a child by ourselves, yet tons of single mothers do it each and every day. They don’t get enough recognition for what they do, and we feel they deserve far more credit than society gives them. So thank you to all the single mothers out there! We salute you for all you do!
Celebrate Mother’s Day every day
Happy Mother's Day!*
*Every day is Mother's Day, it's their world and we're just living in it.
— Dean Dobbs (@DeanDobbs) March 26, 2017
Being a mother isn’t a part time job and we thank Dean Dobbs for reminding us that celebrating the women who gave birth to us shouldn’t simply be resolved to just one day. Every day should be Mother’s Day!
They encourage us
Throw back to my mum and me 33 years ago! Thanks for inspiring me and always encouraging me to dream! Happy Mother's Day @lizcole99 ❤ pic.twitter.com/RfVTadfMj2
— Louis Cole (@funforlouis) March 26, 2017
It’s easy to forget how much our mums have pushed us to follow our dreams, so shout out to Louis Cole for acknowledging how much of an inspiration his own mum has been for him. Without her and all the other mothers out there, we might not have the confidence to reach for the stars!
The absolute sweetest!
Happy Mother's Day 💕 pic.twitter.com/wdzsDembmL
— luke cutforth ✨ (@LukeIsNotSexy) March 26, 2017
What better way to celebrate Mother’s Day than to spend some quality time walking the dog, taking in nature, and having a photoshoot? Thanks, Luke Cutforth, for making our celebrations look subpar compared to yours…
The HAIR
Ignore the hair okay! It's meant to be about Mother's Day not my hair… STOP! pic.twitter.com/IshMLJtnqR
— Joe Sugg (@Joe_Sugg) March 26, 2017
Some of our faves decided to share old photos of themselves and their mothers. However, we want to know how many of them used to rock bleach-blonde hair like Joe Sugg (a look we think he should totally bring back).
Mother’s Day is a time for silly selfies

Happy mother's day @JackieAlbon xxx
— Sammy☠️ (@SammyAlbon) March 26, 2017
The best thing about mums is that we can joke around with them and completely be ourselves, even if that means embracing our inner desire to be a panda. *cough* Sammy Albon. *cough*

With love…
It’s safe to say that Mother’s Day 2017 was a success, and we hope all the mums out there feel pampered and loved. Remember, while 26 March might have officially been Mother’s Day, that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate your mum each day of the year. Be sure to share the love and remind her just how much you appreciate everything she’s done for you!
