Alfie Deyes, Joe Sugg, and Marcus Butler took on a brutal assault course, a haunted playground, and speed dating – and were chased by hounds! – on ITV2’s Release the Hounds, all in the name of charity.
Joe was raising money for AgeUK, and Alfie for Chestnut Tree House, while Marcus Butler represented Anti-Bullying.
The boys began their trek with a rendition of Bob Marley’s Don’t Worry About A Thing, and as they strolled along, we admittedly were already feeling quite worried.
#releasetheyoutubers Dont worry about a thing!🎶🎶😊

However, the singalong was received less enthusiastically in the forest than by viewers at home, as the group were promptly kidnapped.
Some of us struggle to coordinate ourselves normally, let alone when chained to two other people by our feet while crossing an intense assault course involving a real flamethrower. Massive props to the boys for making it through without any broken limbs!
Joe being dragged out of the pen is one my highlights #releasetheyoutubers

Forget Rock, Paper, Scissors – the boys chose the Game of Fives to decide who’d be first up against the hounds, much to the perplexity of presenter Reggie Yates. Note to self: from now on decide all important matters from with this unorthodox game.
In the tense moment before the hounds were released, Alfie accurately summed up our lives every time we have to do anything remotely exerting:
"Why did I not do more running" lol my life summed up @PointlessBlog #releasetheyoutubers

We love the ever-chipper Joe for always being able to look on the bright side – y’know, even when trapped at a terrifying dinner party. Unfortunately, Marcus wasn’t having such a great time as he used his mouth to transfer live crickets, tongue, and even blood, into the mouths of Joe’s dates.
G'night everyone 👍🏼 I'm off to try and get that lap dance @ITV2Hounds #releasetheyoutubers #ReleaseTheHounds pic.twitter.com/pxvP1WIuTg

Joe is just sitting there laughing at him😂❤️ #releasetheyoutubers "if I was there I would do it" no you wouldn't Joe😂 @Joe_Sugg

When Marcus outran the hounds, we weren’t the only ones screaming “YES MARCUS!” at the TV. In fact, it trended on Twitter all by itself.
apparently YES MARCUS was trending because of #releasetheyoutubers 😂😂😂 so glad you guys loved it and of course all for a good cause 💙
— Marcus Butler (@MarcusButler) March 2, 2017
"YES MARCUS" is trending haha the fandom are so proud

For the final challenge, Joe found himself alone in a nightmare playground complete with mysterious figures and moving equipment offset by some seriously creepy music. Rather you than us, Joe! It’s things like this that are the reason we spend so much time inside.
Me when I found out I had to do the last challenge on my flipping own!! #releasetheyoutubers #ReleaseTheHounds pic.twitter.com/tfdhNCFZRO

During Joe’s run, an interesting comparison was spotted:
@Joe_Sugg my favourite part of #releasetheyoutubers is how much joe looks like David from coronation street pic.twitter.com/PNOg3GMF6J

In total the boys managed to raise a fantastic £9,000 and £6,000 for AgeUK and Anti-Bullying respectively, despite losing Alfie along the way (RIP Alfie). We’re very proud of the boys here at TenEighty, as are the rest of the YouTube community:
That's a total of £15,000 raised for charity by @Joe_Sugg & @MarcusButler…and kinda me..but not really…rip me 😂#releasetheyoutubers
