The Toys AndMe channel helped launch US collectible toy L.O.L Surprise! in the UK with a live unboxing in front of hundreds of fans.
Tiana from Toys AndMe, a popular YouTube toy unboxing channel, joined MGA Entertainment in welcoming the new dolls to the UK by holding her own unboxing event on 13 February. In front of a live audience, Tiana was unboxed from a life-size version of the product at the Westfield White City shopping centre.
The unboxing was followed by a meet-and-greet at the Entertainer store in the centre, where over 200 children showed up to meet Tiana.
Since launching in the USA at Christmas, L.O.L Surprise! unboxing videos have been watched over five million times on YouTube. The toy was specifically designed around unboxing videos, with MGA’s UK director Andrew Laughton stating that “our founder Isaac Larian watched unboxing videos late at night and realised that he could design a toy for the YouTube generation around the phenomenon”.
L.O.L Surprise! is available from toy retailers now, with a series of 45 dolls to collect. They are priced at £7.99 each.
