Presenter and vlogger Grace Victory recently signed a book deal with Headline Publishing.
In a video uploaded on her channel last week, Grace F. Victory announced she will be releasing her first book, entitled No Filter, in July 2017.
Grace tells TenEighty that she is determined to be very open and honest with her audience about her story: “I’m the first woman-of-colour vlogger to release a book, and that alone is important. So I think there’s a place for someone like me in the book world. I also feel it is the right time to tell my story so that I can close certain chapters of my life and move on. Writing No Filter and sharing something so personal is going to be closure for me.”
Grace has already started writing the book, which will be released in July. She does most of her writing, sometimes 4-6 hours at a time, on her sofa with plenty of snacks: “I have found that I need to relax at home, listen to want my gut wants to discuss, and then it all flows out. ”

Although she’s keeping quiet about which stories which will make their way into the book, Grace says she hopes one thing everyone takes away from No Filter is that “no matter what you’ve been through, you are absolutely worthy of an incredible life”.
Grace has confirmed that we can anticipate a No Filter book tour, but it isn’t going to be a typical tour. “I want something intimate,” she explains. “I’m thinking a boozy brunch or a cool hangout with a select number of people. My subscribers aren’t the fangirl type and neither am I. It’s important that we all connect and have real time with each other – not just ‘Hi, thanks for buying my book, here’s a photo’. That isn’t me at all.”
