Carrie Hope Fletcher has been awarded Best Actress in a New Production of a Musical by BroadwayWorld.
Carrie was given the award for her portrayal as Truly Scrumptious in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, which ran from May to October 2016. Other winners in the 2016 list included Sir Ian McKellen and Billie Piper.

Carrie tweeted her thanks, saying she was “absolutely chuffed” to have won. She previously played the role of Jemima Potts as part of the original casting of the musical in 2002.

Carrie has also been nominated for Best Actress in a Musical at the 17th Annual WhatsOnStage Awards for the same role. The winners will be announced 19 February 2017, and those who wish to vote can do so via the WhatsOnStage website.
