It’s the most wonderful time of the year…
And no, we’re not talking about Christmas. (Although it is a pretty great time. You know, with the presents and the music and the festive joy.) We’re talking about how yet another Marvel movie is about to grace the big screen! Yes, we know we’ve already had three this year, but let’s be honest, you can never have enough Marvel movies.
Doctor Strange is the next film to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe and, in true YouTube fashion, loads of our faves were able to attend an advanced screening, those lucky things! Not only did they get to see the film, but they also got to hang out with the likes of Rachel McAdams and Benedict Cumberbatch. And they made sure to document it all, so we wouldn’t miss out on the excitement.
So. Much. Excitement.
Come to see @MarvelUK's Big Odd Boy Movie #DoctorStrange pic.twitter.com/29egnKPvnW
— Matt Ley (@Thelaserbearguy) October 24, 2016
Just like everyone else, Hattie Clark and Matt Ley couldn’t contain their excitement over seeing the film! They were so excited that they even gave it a new title: Big Odd Boy Movie. We’re not going to lie, we like it. It has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?
SO. COOL.
I'm at Westminster abbey for a @BritishGQ X @MarvelUK #DoctorStrange strange event. IT'S VERY COOL. pic.twitter.com/QxN7OVQNR4
— Jim Chapman (@JimChapman) October 24, 2016
The people, the setting, the movie… Jim, we don’t think “VERY COOL” covers it!
Curse you, British reserve
Very blurry pictures of the cast of #DoctorStrange. I was in the same room and didn't manage to say hi – curse my British reserve… pic.twitter.com/q5iVd6vsKM
— Ellen Rose (@icklenellierose) October 24, 2016
Oh, Ellen, we totally feel you. We would have reacted the same way if we were in the same room with both Benedict Cumberbatch and Rachel McAdams. Curse our British reserve…
That feeling when you casually have a conversation with Rachel McAdams
At the Doctor Strange screening!
Casually had a convo with Rachel Mcadams….Ummmm best moment ever!@MarvelUK #DoctorStrange pic.twitter.com/hdrMmhXXAV
— Mark (@MarkFerris199O) October 24, 2016
You know that feeling when you casually have a conversation with Rachel McAdams? Well… maybe not, but Mark Ferris does! Mark, please tell us you and Rachel are Facebook friends now!
What sorcery!
We always knew there was something special about Carrie Hope Fletcher. We just didn’t realise it was that she had some badass sorcery skills!
PS. Does anyone know where we can find our own cloak of levitation?
Celebrity encounters

WE JUST MET THESE ANGELS#DoctorStrange IS SO good 10/10 recommend @MarvelUK https://t.co/thiABdY5bG pic.twitter.com/yXABwk23Cs
— Niki and Sammy (@nikinsammy) October 24, 2016
I had a lovely time at the #DoctorStrange screening @MarvelUK :) met Benedict and Rachel pic.twitter.com/VxoWtN9vJG
— Jamie Jo (@BananaJamana) October 24, 2016
We seriously don’t know how Niki, Sammy, Jamie, Tom, and those lads at The Lean Machines managed to keep their cool around Rachel and Benedict. Seriously, we would have screamed with excitement and possibly started sobbing. You know, the usual stuff.
So. Jealous.
That awkward moment when…
I tried to take a selfie with Benedict Cumberbatch but someone else's flash went off and then this happened #DoctorStrange pic.twitter.com/Rcx4dsYIxN
— Luke Franks (@luke_franks) October 24, 2016
Oh, Luke, we’ve all been there. We’re taking a super cool selfie with Benedict Cumberbatch and then someone else’s flash goes off and completely ruins it. We find that a pint of ice cream and a marathon of Sherlock makes everything better.
The final verdict?
Doctor Strange is pretty deece. Best use of 3D I've seen since Gravity. Possibly ever. Really worth seeing it with them there glasses on.
— Daniel J. Layton (@DanielJLayton) October 24, 2016
Well #DoctorStrange brings a whole new meaning to the word SHOOK, woah just go see it ok ⚡️👌🏼

First thoughts on #DoctorStrange: the BEST Marvel movie in ages. Mindblowing VFX. Beyoncé gags. Benedict's little beard. WHAT'S NOT TO LIKE? pic.twitter.com/PVfSVO1DAc
— Benjamin Cook (@benjamin_cook) October 24, 2016
Real REAL strong addition to the Marvel franchise with #DoctorStrange! Stunning special effects, humour and powerful character. Solid.
— Pete Bucknall (@petesjams) October 24, 2016
Doctor Strange was astonishing. A visual masterpiece. Probably one of the best if not the best visual piece from Marvel.
— Eman Kellam (@EmanKellam) October 24, 2016
Beard? Check. Awesome effects? Check. Visually stunning? Check.
It appears our faves are giving Doctor Strange two thumbs up, which has us even more excited to see it ourselves! Benjamin Cook says “WHAT NOT TO LIKE?”, so we’re taking that as a good sign.
However, if we don’t like it, we’re coming after you, Ben. We don’t like being lied to.
Are you excited for Doctor Strange?
We know, we know, there have been a million superhero movies over the past few years (okay, that might be a bit of an overexaggeration, but there have been a lot), but from the looks of it, Doctor Strange might be one of the best yet. We find that YouTubers tend to know a thing or two about movie quality, so we’re going to take their word regarding how awesome it is. Also, Benedict Cumberbatch is in it and, let’s be honest, anything with Benedict is always A+ entertainment.
