On 14 October, YouTubers gathered for the #StandUpWithYT live stream to raise money for Cancer Research UK’s Stand Up To Cancer campaign.
Streamed for four hours on YouTube, the event featured a huge range of creators who came to sing, cook, race in tiny cars, and roll on the floor… it was pure chaos.
Missed the stream or wanting to relive the madness? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!

Our favourite YouTubers gathered to form #SquadGoals and a kickass cancer-fighting team. Some of our fave squadrons included Zoe London and her gal pals, Luke Franks and all his cuties, and Gary C with his dream team of Luke Cutforth, Beckie Brown, and Hannah Witton!
Wedding bubble blues
The lovely Laura Bubble made a fantastic first date prank video for Stand Up To Cancer, rocking a wedding dress while she met some dashing (and we literally mean dashing) men for the first time. She even cosied up to Niki Albon, who didn’t look particularly happy, but hey, all aboard the Liki/Naura ship!
The Super Sticky Sweetie Challenge

After completing their sponsored silence, it was time for Joe Sugg and Caspar Lee to get a reward… Hey, how about some sweets for the boys? But there was a trick to this treat…
The pair were dressed in tight-fitting body suits, covered in sticky tape, and then rolled and dragged around the floor, trying to get as many sweets as possible to stick to them. Also, in case you were wondering, we don’t recommend this method as an alternative to hoovering. Do your chores properly, kids!
YouTube Star in a Child’s Car
.@OliWhiteTV in a child's car 😂 Reckon @amazingphil will do any bettter?!? RT for YES, like for NO #StandUpwithYT pic.twitter.com/ot24XEfeRb

How hard can it be to get in a child’s car and race down a track? Apparently, pretty difficult.
Caspar fell out of the car as soon as the klaxon blared, broke the car and then cheated by running down the course with it under his arm – and he wasn’t the only casualty! Oli White leapt over the ramp like a dolphin… and then flopped like a whale.
Phil Lester also took on the race, which was no small feat, considering he’s well over six feet tall (practically a giant!). However, he managed to fit himself into the car, shot down the track with his skinny jean-clad legs, and ironically had seven seconds to complete the challenge.
The overall winner of YouTube Star in a Car, you ask? Well, this year it was the one and only Louis Cole! He jetted around the world and down the track, completing it in six seconds, despite being unable to fit the helmet over his dreadlocks.
Outfits on point
Everyone get the bomber jacket memo? @danisnotonfire? @AmazingPhil? @nikinsammy? Sweet. #StandUpwithYT pic.twitter.com/hooLfof2fI

The bomber jacket game was strong. Two iconic YouTube duos – Dan Howell and Phil, and Niki and Sammy Albon – donned some gorgeous jackets and looked super snazzy! Upcoming autumn/winter trend, for sure! We also appreciate how Dan stuck to his aesthetic and wore black.
Also, in case you missed it, Dough Armstrong walked around London in his underwear earlier this month and he stripped again for the stream. Oh myyyyy….
Sweet tunes for the stream
Pleased to announce that I’ll be performing at the Stand Up To Cancer YouTube event on Saturday @StandUp2C #StandUpwithYT

We were serenaded by several live artists, including Una Healy, Tor Millar, and Rag’n’Bone Man. Some brought a full band, some crooned over a piano, all filled our ears with sweet music.
Non-terrible microwave meals
The SORTEDfood lads are always up for a challenge, even if it’s cooking for Kimberly Wyatt from Pussycat Dolls – with a microwave. Still, the boys managed to whip up a gourmet storm in the makeshift kitchen and made a delicious meal for everyone!
And the grand total raised was…
WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! #StandUpwithYT pic.twitter.com/b2AhFD35aa
— StandUpToCancerUK (@StandUp2C) October 15, 2016
Updates about the amount raised came from the Totaliser… or a man dressed up as a Mexican wrestler with calculators around his waist. Tearing off shirt after shirt to reveal numbers scrawled across his chest, he ripped off the last one to release that the live stream had raised an INCREDIBLE £187,571!
It truly was a fun and inspiring day, wasn’t it?
Huge thanks to everyone who worked hard to make the stream as fun and entertaining as it was, and an even bigger thank you to everyone who donated – it’s great to see that nearly £200,000 were raised! Congrats to #TeamInternet for working to fight cancer! We salute you!
