Dodie Clark released her debut EP Intertwined on 18 November and has sold out nearly all the dates on her UK tour.
Intertwined, which consists of six tracks, reached Number One on the UK iTunes bestselling preorders charts. The EP also charted at Number 35 in the official UK album charts on 25 November.

Speaking exclusively to TenEighty, she reveals why she has chosen to rebrand herself from Dodie Clark to dodie (with a lowercase d): “I guess it just made me feel like I was at school. When I realised I was in control of what I wanted people to call me and how I wanted to present myself as an artist, I just thought, ‘Woah, cool, Sounds like fun!'”
The EP consists of lead single Sick of Losing Soulmates which was released last month, a live performance of When, as well as two unique interludes which dodie says is “like a little inside joke for anyone who has the EP. I also think they work well to glue the whole thing together.”

After realising she didn’t like how When sounded against a click track, dodie chose to record the song in one take. She plans to upload a video of the performance as it was recorded for the EP. “I wanted a little element of my channel in the EP, and to add to the rawness, so we decided to just record it in my living room.
“I know it sounds dramatic, but I wrote it in such a dark place, and every time I sing it I revisit that horrible space in my brain. But I’m happy I made something out of it.”
Sometimes the only way I get through the day is knowing I know @doddleoddle. Her EP is out today and it's stunning. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/pTtUMVZBxD

However, dodie admits that the artwork for Intertwined was completed late in the process. “It was all a bit of a struggle getting everything done before my recent tour! I announced in the summer that I realised my favourite colour was yellow. That is pretty obvious on the cover!”
So what can we expect from her performance at the Bush Hall in London? “I think this really is the start of me finding my feet as an artist. I can’t wait to just amplify my sound and my music but in a way I’m finally happy with!”
Intertwined is available now on iTunes.
