Louise Pentland is working on her first novel, which is set to be released in Summer 2017.
“After writing my first book, Life with a Sprinkle of Glitter, I caught the bug!” said Louise on the book’s website. “I adore the solace that comes from sitting and writing alone, but I knew I wanted to do something quite different the next time I turned my hand to writing.”
In her announcement video, Louise talks about the novel’s protagonist, Robin Wilde, who is a 29-year-old single mum and part-time makeup artist’s assistant.
Despite similarities to her own life, Louise states that the novel is not autobiographical: “This is a world I understand and know […] but with this, I have a lot more freedom to just go crazy and change things, and make a brand new story about a brand new person”.
Louise hasn’t revealed anything about the plot of the novel, but does say in her video that “there are twists and turns, a couple of big surprises, but ultimately it’s a feel-good book for badass women.”
Eleanor Dryden, publishing director at Bonnier Zaffre, said: “I’m absolutely over the moon to be working with the inspirational and hugely talented Louise Pentland. She’s a born storyteller – her voice is fresh, smart and vivacious – and our entire team fell instantly for her protagonist Robin Wilde, the unique mum and daughter dynamic that she draws, and the cleverly crafted surprises she has in store for her readers.”
Louise has previously written the aforementioned self-help guide Life With a Sprinkle of Glitter, which was a number one bestseller in summer 2015.
Her novel is currently available for preorder, and will be released in 2017. Fans can sign up to receive the latest news about the novel at louisepentlandnovel.com.
