Did you know it’s been 16 years since we last had a Bridget Jones film grace the big screen?
We can hardly believe it either! 16 years seems like such a long time ago; what were we doing back in 2004? Hmm, let’s see… We were dozing off whilst our teacher tried teaching us Maths, we were trying to complete the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban game for PS2, we were looking for the sparkliest gel pen to make our homework look that much cooler… but we’re getting off track.
The Bridget Jones’s Baby premiere saw a load of our faves walk down the pink (yes, pink!) carpet with the likes of Renée Zellweger, Colin Firth, and Patrick Dempsey. We don’t know how they managed to be in the presence of the trio without fangirling – we would have screamed!
Here are the highlights from the glorious night.
FOMO was ever-present
Had tickets to go to the #BridgetJonesBaby premiere but I realised that wasn't a good idea when it took me 10 minutes to remember the title
— do(die) (@doddleoddle) September 5, 2016
Don’t worry, Dodie, we totally understand you not being able to make the premiere. We wouldn’t have wanted you to fall asleep during the film. We’re sure Hazel Hayes filled you in on all the fun!
And so the movie references begin
outrageously excited for #BridgetJonesBaby tonight. decided against the bunny costume but I'm wearing animal ears in my heart 🐰
— Hex Croucher ✨💀 (@lexcanroar) September 5, 2016
Who knew Lex Croucher was such a big Bridget Jones fan?! We knew we liked that girl for a reason.
RENÉE. ZELLWEGER.
FUCKING BRIDGET MAN #BridgetJonesBaby pic.twitter.com/URDsVGx7Fa
— Leena Norms (@leenanorms) September 5, 2016
OMG, Leena! How did you manage to keep your cool around Bridget Jones herself?! Props to you, girl! We probably would have run up to her and given her a hug. Before being swiftly being taken away by security.
Everyone looked super fab
At the #BridgetJonesBaby World Premiere ❤️ so excited to see this film! https://t.co/G7l8EeCwYF pic.twitter.com/iVaaDgEVP8

Good times at #BridgetJonesBaby premiere tonight! pic.twitter.com/FEc2wUDQh5
— Laurbubble (@Laurbubble) September 5, 2016
If there’s one thing we know about premieres, it’s that our faves will be showcasing some seriously fab style, and they didn’t disappoint this time around. Bethan, Hazel, Laura, Hannah, and everyone else stole the show with their glam looks.
We hope they’ll share their style secrets with us!
Bridget Jones is a family affair

— Helen Anderson (@HelenAnderz) September 5, 2016
Me and my awful derpy face are at the premiere of #BridgetJonesBaby tonight with @noodlerella and my dad 😎 pic.twitter.com/T1z8eiOYBk
— spook cutforth✨ (@LukeIsNotSexy) September 5, 2016
It wouldn’t be a Bridget Jones premiere without inviting along the people who most likely introduced our faves to the film: their parents! Helen Anderson brought along Mamma Anderz and Luke Cutforth brought his dad. So cute.
The pink carpet was a hit
I can't believe they put a pink carpet out at the #BridgetJonesBaby premier just for me 👀💅💕
— Noodlerella 🍑 (@noodlerella) September 5, 2016
By the overwhelmingly positive response, it’s safe to say the premiere’s organisers made the right decision by going with the pink carpet. Louise Pentland and Connie Glynn couldn’t get enough!
Jack or Darcy?
Conflicting opinions from @JackHoward and @TheHazelHayes! #BridgetJonesBaby pic.twitter.com/k0rNvhIVPi
— Universal PicturesUK (@universaluk) September 5, 2016
Do we go with Darcy, with his posh British accent and charm, or do we pick Jack, with his flowing black hair and beautiful smile? We can’t decide – why are they making us choose?!
Final thoughts…
oh my god. I bloody LOVE Bridget and I wasn't sure about this film, but #BridgetJonesBaby was absolutely perfect 💜
— Hex Croucher ✨💀 (@lexcanroar) September 5, 2016
#BridgetJonesBaby was honestly the funniest film I've seen all year 🔥 it was perfect ❤️

And so ends another film premiere!
We laughed, fangirled, experienced a blast from the past, and saw the fab lives YouTubers lead. It truly was a night to remember. We hope our invitation doesn’t get lost in the mail next time. We’d love to experience the adventures of the red pink carpet:
