We’re still getting over our post-SitC blues…
And you probably are too. Or you didn’t go and you’re literally sick of hearing about it. Soz. But you’ll be pleased to know there was a ton of other great content online last week, so here we are to gather up some of the best videos for you! We do the hard work so that you don’t have to.
A Brief History of North Korea – Emma Blackery
North Korea has once again become a contentious topic on social media. While Louis Cole responded to the propaganda claims made against his recent vlogs in the country, Emma Blackery stepped up to give everyone some really useful background information for those of us who are less informed.
Who knew Emma nearly went on to study Korean relations at university? We’d quite like to see more of this (we’re literally fascinated) and Emma breaks it down in a way that’s so easy even we can understand it.
A Song With Tom – Will Darbyshire
If you had 20 minutes to make a song – words, melody, and all – where would you start? Honestly, we’d probably spend 14 minutes looking at DILFs of Disneyland and six minutes freaking out about our lack of rhyming ability.
Thankfully, Will Darbyshire and Tom Rosenthal took the whole thing more seriously and came up with the beautiful River of Down. Though we’re still curious to hear Time Tank or Willy and the Cheese.
18 Things I’ve Learnt in 18 Years – Fabulous Hannah
This video needs little explanation. This week, Fabulous Hannah has presented this list of thoughts and ideas that she’s learnt in her 18 years on Earth so far. It’s quite a list if we’re honest.
Hannah explores her feelings about London, dealing with problems, and facing pressures in life. We might just bookmark this video and come back to it when we really need it. We think you should too.
JAACK’S CHAT WITH RICKY GERVAIS! – JaackMaate
Our maate Jack Dean is known for chatting to some of the big names. But THIS. This video takes things to a whole new level. Actual Ricky Gervais.
Not only is this video hilarious, the pair bounce off each other really well and Jack is on top form. You know you’re absolutely crushing it when Ricky Gervais is hysterically laughing at your jokes. Goals. Everything goals. We reckon this’ll be one of those videos Jack will look back on in years to come and remember the moment it happened. Pretty damn cool.
Clickbait and Relationship Drama | Evan Edinger & Dodie Clark
In this half-discussion, half-apology for his last video title, Evan Edinger opens up for an honest discussion with his good chum Dodie Clark about clickbait. Is it ever okay to mislead with a video title? What if the viewer still enjoys the video? How are thumbnails different from titles? So many questions.
We feel your pain, Dodie – there’s nothing more annoying than clicking on a gripping thumbnail with an unbelievable title only to find out it’s a Q&A and we’ve been the victim of some classic clickbait. Something tells us that as attention spans get shorter and the rate of videos being uploaded to YouTube gets higher, this problem isn’t going to disappear overnight.
