The Saccone-Jolys have been voted Radio Times‘s TV Champions of 2016.
The annual contest run by listings magazine the Radio Times pits 512 celebrities from eight different genres against each other in a fan-driven vote.
Anna and Jonathan Saccone-Joly were among the 64 online personalities to be included in the contest. They triumphed over fellow YouTuber Carrie Hope Fletcher in the final round of the Online category.
They then went through to the final, in which they were up against the winners of the other seven categories, including Poldark and Being Human star Aidan Turner. Turner amassed over 1.2 million votes from his fans, but he was no match for the popular YouTube family.
Anna and Jonathan fought hard, encouraging Twitter followers to “VOTE VOTE VOTE” and offering giveaways and live streams in return for fan support. The campaigning paid off, and they swept to victory with 1.6 million votes.
We did it friends!!! We actually won the championship!! thank you all so much, our community has really bonded over this! #TeamSacconejoly
