Life just wouldn’t be the same without friends…
Cheesy, we know, but hear us out. Friends are the people we experience life with, whether it be the highs of graduating university or the lows of a breakup. They stick by us when we’re on cloud nine and when we need a shoulder to cry on. They’re our rock, our shining light and that’s something that deserves to be celebrated, which is why we’ve decided to turn to our YouTube friends to show just how awesome other people are.
Forget Taylor Swift, YouTubers are the ultimate squad goals, filming collabs and going to super exclusive premieres. Honestly, is there a day that goes by where we don’t feel jealous? We just want to be friends with all of them!
The Fantastic Foursome
What better way to start an article about squad goals than with the Fantastic Foursome (or should we call it the Phantastic Foursome?). Don’t deny it, you were totes jealous of the friendship Phil Lester, Dan Howell, PJ Liguori, and Chris Kendall had back in the day.
Remember the hilarious collabs? It’s a shame we haven’t had a Fantastic Foursome video in a while. These guys knew how to create good entertainment, and we remember wishing we were a member of their crew.
Dan, Phil, Chris, and PJ, what do we have to do for you guys to collab again? Did someone say reunion?
Evan being friends with everyone
Real talk: We don’t know what life would be like without Evan Edinger. Where would we be without his puns?! They’re puntastic. But that’s beside the point…
The reason we’re featuring Evan is because he’s pretty much the centre of all our squad goals. Seriously, he’s friends with everyone, from Gabriella Lindley to Zoe Sugg and Luke Cutforth to Dodie Clark, to name a few. And remember the Dovan flat? Ah, good times.
Evan, can you invite us to one of your get-togethers sometime? We love YouTube celeb spotting!
The Gleam Team
Marcus Butler, Zoe Sugg, Louise Pentland, Joe Sugg, Niomi Smart, Tanya Burr, Jim Chapman, Alfie Deyes, and Caspar Lee – what do they all have in common? Yes, they’ve all got some super fly style, but they’re also part of the Gleam Team, arguably the most enviable squad on YouTube.
The Gleam Team have essentially created a YouTube empire, complete with books, television specials, clothing brands, and makeup collections. And even though they’re crazy busy, they still manage to spend time together and create awesome memories to share in their vlogs.
Honestly, we can’t watch their videos without feeling serious FOMO. Are you looking for any new recruits? We’re very tidy and love doing the Whisper Challenge!
How much these four love spending time together
Don’t lie, you’ve totes wished (on more than one occasion) that you were a member of Hazel Hayes, Jack Howard, Dodie Clark, and Daniel J. Layton‘s squad. After watching Hazel and Dan’s PMS series, it’s hard not to wish we could attend their dinner parties, chill with them at premieres, and take trips to Ireland to spend time with Hazel’s mum, Helen (she’s a sweetie, isn’t she?).
They also always look so pleased to be around each other. Just look at those smiles!
Project Six (how we miss you…)
Okay, we’ll let you in on a not-so-well-kept secret: Everyone at TenEighty HQ is still reeling from 2014’s Project Six breakup. We loved what Jack Dean, Sam King, Jamie Cottrell, Jake Boys, Nick Crompton, and Adam Waithe were doing and we always looked forward to their videos. We’d even go as far as to argue that they were the ultimate #CollabChannelGoals. Big claim, we know.
Luckily for us, not all hope was lost on the day that Project Six closed down. They’re all still making videos on their personal channels, which is a blessing. We’d have a big Project Six-shaped hole in our hearts without them.
Zoella and her brother from another mother
One of the best friendships to come out of 2015 has definitely got to be that between Zoe Sugg and Mark Ferris. The pair instantly clicked and what’s resulted are hilarious collabs, silly selfies and a whole lot of love – everything that makes a great friendship!
The pair are literally like siblings and those types of friendships are the best. We all have that one person in our life who we love like we’re related to them. Although, watch out, Joe. It looks like you might have some competition for the title of Zoella’s coolest brother (only kidding, don’t prank us!).
When YouTube met the Pope!
Okay, okay, okay… We know that everyone mentioned above is squad goals, but imagine being BFFs with the Pope! We know, crazy, right? But that’s a dream Louise Pentland and a whole host of other YouTubers got to live out when they travelled to Rome and spoke to the Pope about YouTube!
The best part of the entire meeting? The Pope said he loved the type of videos Louise is making. We’d probably faint if we got such a compliment!
But the award for #UltimateSquadGoals goes to…
Us!
Yes, we here at TenEighty HQ are the ultimate squad goals (don’t act like you totally didn’t see this coming). We get to spend our days around some of the coolest people around, writing about YouTube and holding definitely not lame cool office parties.
We totally get it if your jealous. You’d be crazy not to be…
So. Many. Goals.
We hope we’ve shown you just how awesome friendship can be. We all need people outside our family who we can chill with and let loose, and while YouTubers might be #SquadGoals, we’re happy with our own friends. We wouldn’t be anything without them and we appreciate them more than they’ll ever know.
