Five of the Best: Warm Weather Lookbooks

We all know that one person whose style is just too fabulous to handle. Hey, who knows, maybe this year that person will be us!

For those of us whose go-to statement pieces are flannel and jeans, putting together stylish outfits can feel like trying to put together too many puzzles at one time… and we’re terrible at puzzles! We often find ourselves wondering, “How high should my socks be?”, “Do black and navy go together?”, or “How much plaid is too much plaid?” It’s a regular crisis!

But it’s summer 2016 and after far too long, we finally decided to answer these questions ourselves, so we got to work binge-watching some YouTube lookbooks. And, of course, our natural reaction (after filling three online baskets from Asos and Topshop) was to share our favourites with you.

So here they are, in all their stylish glory – Five of the Best: Warm Weather Lookbooks!

‪Men’s Summer Style Look Book (Men’s Fashion) – James Welsh

When we think of summer fashion the first thing we want to know is how to look amazing for all of the festivals we plan on attending. And Summer in the City. We definitely want to know how to look fab for such a prestigious YouTube event. Thankfully, to alleviate our festival fashion fears, James Welsh has put together this amazing collection of outfits.

Jackets and ripped jeans and yes, even a bit of flannel! Perfect for our English summer days that, despite how much we may wish, will never be as hot as California. Then again, California is far too hot to wear boots in the summer and after seeing James’s 70s throwback lookbook, we want to wear those suede beauties all year long.

Now, all we have to do is find a 35mm camera, whether or not we know how to use it (we definitely don’t). We’re pretty sure that’s the trendiest accessory of all time.

‪Spring Lookbook | 90s Inspired, Blush Pinks, Whites & Stripes – Patricia Bright

For those looking for a little more glam, Patricia Bright has put together some flawless outfits for us. That striped button-down is stunning! But we’re still curious how anyone can wear white trousers without getting them dirty. Teach us your ways, Patricia!

Of course, since a bunch of us are 90s kids, we were inevitably going to love the 90s-inspired bomber jacket, and we now have so many new ideas for handbags we should add to our collection. Maybe we’ll finally get rid of that old backpack we’ve been carrying around since primary school.

Wait, did we just realise that good fashion is the key to adulting?! Is it that easy?!

Men’s Style | Shorts Lookbook – Robin James

Okay, Robin James, we never even knew this many types of shorts existed! This video might have been posted last year, but let’s be honest, those shorts are so hot they’re never going out of style. We’re totally obsessed with any trousers that have a fruit print – so chic!

We also love all of the different shoe and shirt combinations with the outfits. We’re so inspired to pick up something other than just t-shirts this year. And we have to mention the music. Who knew YouTube Creation Tools had jams so funky!

We’re off to get our summer festival jam on!

Missguided Festival Lookbook – sunbeamsjess

Good thing we’re back in the festival spirit because sunbeamsjess has her own gorgeous lookbook for us. Magnificent sunglasses and a stunning outdoor adventure, now we want to frolic and dance all summer long!

And we adore the accessories Jess includes! Those sunglasses look like a magical sunset… Will they let us see mystical things when we wear them?! Maybe they’ll help us finally spot a unicorn. We’ve always wanted to see one! Plus, we really needed those jewellery tips to truly become our inner glamour superstar. The gold works perfectly with Jess’ outfits and the enchantment of those woods.

Jess, you definitely know how to camp and look great doing it! If it’s alright, we’d like to steal some of that fashion mojo ourselves and get ready to turn heads with these outfits!

JUNE LOOKBOOK – Samantha Maria

Finally, we’ve grabbed some amazing wardrobe inspiration from Samantha Maria to solidify us as fashion wizards! We can’t get enough of how comfortable and casual these looks feel.

And hats! We feel so much hatspiration from that first outfit. We’re not even sure if our heads are the right shape for hats, but we certainly hope so! Our trainer-loving selves also never imagined we would fall in love with heels, but we’re pretty sure we’re going to have to buy an engagement ring for those yellow sandals.

We can’t go without saying that those sunshine shots around the city have us so ready to embrace summertime. We’ll put on our stunning new outfits and power walk just like Sammi showed us, and this time, we’ll look miraculous doing it.

So there you have it…

We’re going to grab an iced coffee and hit the high street. Marvellous fashion and empty pockets await! We hope you’ve been as inspired as we have to update that old wardrobe. We’ll all be style icons in no time!
