It’s officially summer…
Hooray! But don’t get too excited, it has been pouring with rain. Typical Britain. Don’t worry, dear reader, we’re here to brighten your day with another warm dose of YouTube goodness.
Yes, we here at TenEighty work tirelessly to Round-Up the best videos on a Weekly basis. It’s the original. It’s the best. It’s the Weekly Round-Up.
Let’s do this…
Create Stuff – Michael Dean
Some days creating is harder than others. You stare at the empty page, the empty timeline, the empty mind. All you want to do is create. But you make excuses.
Yes, we may have just quoted the majority of the video but that’s because IT’S SO GOOD. We pressed play on the 35-second short by Michael Dean and it was just like, wow, you know? We get it. It spoke to us. We know the struggle. But we know all is not lost. If you really want to create, you’ll create.
Anxiety, yo. – Jon Aitken
This boy. Where do we even start? Jon Aitken has returned to the Round-Up and in this honest video he opens up about anxiety, depression and whether he listens to too much Lana Del Rey (which by the way is not physically possible).
Watching Jon talk about his mental health so openly and discuss how he’s learned to empower himself is honestly inspiring. It’s clear that since his time writing for TenEighty, Jon has made numerous positive changes in his life and he’s now in a better place because of it. He also now does yoga. Slay.
6 Ways to Rock a Bandana – Festival Hairstyles – Kaitlin Dobson
Let us start this commentary by admitting that we absolutely can not wear bandanas. We absolutely can’t. They’re just not right for us. So that gives us even more reason to live vicariously through Kaitlin Dobson in her new video – which is conveniently all about wearing bandanas.
This week one of our editorial team is off to a festival. Although it’s unlikely to be patterned bandanas and summer sun… more miles of thick mud and not getting even a wink of sleep for the entire duration. Perhaps we’ll send him off with a nice little bandana anyway. Floral? Polka Dots? There are just so many options.
INDIAN DAD DOES MARSHMALLOW CHALLENGE! – KishenTanna
Before you see the words “marshmallow challenge” and click away – hold your horses! Kishen Tanna has enlisted the help of his dad for this laugh out loud video in which he also gives away some pretty decent DVDs. We’d like one please – just not of the BluRay films please Kishen because our DVD player doesn’t h… this isn’t important.
Pulling in a parent to do a challenge video brings a new flavour to the video. Maybe we’ll do a Five Of The Best about them? In fact, that’s a good idea! We’ll write that down. Until then, enjoy Kishen and his dad spitting marshmallow about the place and hysterically laughing it all off. Good fun.
Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared 6 – This Is It Collective
It’s HERE. Hold us. We can’t.
If you’re reading this before you’ve watched the video then WHAT ARE YOU DOING. Watch it. Then watch it again. Then comment on the video. Then watch it again. Then tweet about it. Then tell a parent or guardian. Then watch it once more for good measure.
We can already hear the theorists frantically writing up their theses in the comments on this video. There is just so much going on: the returning characters, the live-action office/bar sketch, the alternate universe. Oh and did we mention it was uploaded on 19 June? WE CAN’T.
Gimme gimme more, gimme more, gimme gimme more…
In case you missed it, Jake Dudman has returned to the world of YouTube video making and delighted us with this video about being happy. It’s worth a watch.
Have you been watching Big Brother? We’re scrambling to finish the Weekly Round-Up so that we can go and watch it now. The two houses are competing and it’s literally gripping telly. Anyway, Tommy Salter has returned with his Tommy’s Take series to recap the canoodling between Marco and Laura. Canoodling. That’s a fun word.
Finally, lovely Hazel Hayes recently had a chat with some of the X-Men. Casual. In fact, we popped along to watch and subsequently cast a bunch of YouTubers as characters so check that out too (we’re still waiting for your commentary video, Hazel).
That’s your lot for this week. Did we miss leave anything out? Let us know at @TenEightyUK on Twitter or TenEighty UK on Facebook.
