Be warned: there’s a little bit of nostalgia lurking in this week’s Round-Up.
All we’re saying is if you want to spice up your life, you should definitely watch the videos we’ve suggested. If you miss any, it’d be a tragedy. We need to be careful though, or this introduction will be a little less ironic and a little bit more complicated.
Oops. We did it again.
(Sorry. At this point we’re just naming songs…)
How To Be Happy – Sam King
We all have down days, and sometimes we need a bit of help figuring out what we can do to become a little bit happier. In this video, Sam King gives some genuinely good advice on the little bits and pieces you can do to make yourselves feel a bit better.
Hope you’re feeling a bit better soon, Sam! Now, we’re off to clean our rooms and maybe go for a run? (Well, we’ll *think* about going for a run at least…)
New Dating App That’s Out Of This World – Anna Johnson
In a universe where there seems to be a dating app for everyone, Anna Johnson seems to have found the one remaining little gap in the market with this hilarious dating app parody. Or is it a parody? You can never tell these days.
Anna is one of the winners of this YouTube NextUp 2016, and we’re really looking forward to seeing more of her videos! And keep an eye on the Round-Up in the coming weeks for a few more of this year’s NextUp creators.
Rihanna – Unfaithful with Dodie Clark – Saz Close
Sarah Close has joined forces with Dodie Clark to whack us over the head with a big ol’ slice of nostalgia with this glorious cover of Unfaithful. (Don’t say we didn’t warn you.)
Now as we’re sure you all know, we’re a mild, quiet, reserved bunch here at TenEighty HQ, and there’s no way you’ll find us singing into our hairbrushes to this at the top of our voices. Never. So, naturally there was absolutely no singing along to either this, or the cover of S Club 7’s Bring it All Back over on Dodie’s channel either.
We’re sure you won’t be singing along either.
A Trump Of Snow – Mandeville Sisters
Amelia Mandeville, much to Grace’s confusion, seems to have stumbled across a startling (and possibly alarming) discovery in this sketch, and it’s got us thinking. If there really IS some reality in the whole Snow/Trump/Hunger Games/Real Life parallel, what does this mean for other fiction?
Does this mean our letters to Hogwarts really WAS lost in the Owl Post? Are there really sparkly vampires wandering round Phoenix? (We hope not). Amelia, WE NEED ANSWERS!!
An Absent Letter, An Envelope Too Small – Rosianna Halse Rojas
We’re putting the jokes aside for a minute for this very touching video from Rosianna Halse Rojas in tribute to her dad, featuring lots of books to illustrate her point.
There’s not a lot we can really say to this one, or a lot we can really add to Rosianna’s video, but go and give it a watch and send a bit of love her way.
Ooh ah, just a little bit, ooh aah, a little bit more… to watch?
PJ Liguori has given us a little glimpse into the world of what the world of people wanting to work with YouTubers looks like. Maybe. But of course, who doesn’t want to work with PooPiePie?
Louis Cole has been in three different countries this week for The Solvey Project, proving once again that travelling isn’t just about having a good time. Follow his journey in videos such as this one from Delhi, and find out more about the project over on The Solvey Project’s website, or in the video introducing it on Dave Erasmus’s channel here.
