According to reports, the new YouTube Connect app will allow users to directly stream live videos from their mobile devices.
First announced by VentureBeat, YouTube Connect will be Google’s competitor to Twitter’s Periscope and Facebook’s Live app. Set to work in a similar way to both, the app will allow users to live stream video on their YouTube channel and within the Connect app.
According to the report, users will be able to log in to the Connect app using their existing YouTube or Google accounts, where they will immediately be able to begin live streaming. YouTube Connect will also feature a news feed where users can find the latest videos from their subscriptions, as well as chat and tagging options.
A launch date for YouTube Connect is yet to be announced.
