Dear Easter Bunny,
Thank you for all the chocolate. Easter must be a stressful time for you, setting up all those Easter Egg hunts and making sure everyone has the right egg. I mean, we’re all too aware of the disappointment of a Cadbury’s Buttons Easter Egg when you’re hoping for Maltesers…
Basically Easter Bunny, what we’re trying to say is have a break. Maybe not a Kit-Kat, because you’re probably sick of chocolate by now, but perhaps some videos?
Burnt Toast – Jack and Dean
Ooh, look! Jack Howard and Dean Dobbs are back with another sketch, which is ALWAYS a good day in our diaries. Also featuring a bit of a cheeky dig at Maroon 5, a jammy cameo, and Jack’s dressing gown. Easily the comfiest costume choice ever. We see what you did there, Jack. Smart.
Now we’re not sure why, but we’re really craving some toast and jam…
Hold Me Back – Daniel Dobbs
Daaamn, Daniel, at it again with the… no. No, we can’t quite bring ourselves to finish that sentence. But Daniel Dobbs really IS at it again with the great songs, and this is sure to be stuck in your head after a couple of listens. And you’re going to want to listen a AT LEAST a couple of times.
We know we’re meant to be all about video here, but sometimes simple is best – and the on-screen lyrics make for some perfect singalongability. #JustSaying.
Feminism – NotJustBlonde
https://youtu.be/2J8m34xAq-M
We’re used to Zannah Perrins‘s songs and covers being the main focus on her channel, but our ears did prick up when we spotted her doing a couple of polls over on her twitter about feminism, and we wondered where the results would end up.
The answer to that is RIGHT HERE, in this very well-researched and balanced video on feminism. We’re losing count of the number of videos there are about feminism floating round these days, but this is definitely one of the top ones we’ve seen!
Do I need a dream to be happy? – Angela Innes
We’ve all felt that panic when we’ve been asked “Where do you see yourself in five years?”, and Angela Innes seems to have come up with the perfect response for it: not worrying about it. It’s always interesting to hear different views about going to university, and it can seem overwhelming when everyone has big career goals if you don’t know what you want to do.
We think you’ll be just fine, Angela. And we’re holding out for that anthology of poetry. That isn’t a bad dream at all…!
Paroxysm – Radwolves
We always get a little bit excited when a new short film rocks up in our subscription feed, and we’ve been waiting for Jake Dunn’s since the trailer appeared a couple of weeks ago. You won’t find any spoilers here, but it’s a bit of a nail-biter, so get yourself some popcorn (we imagine you’re sick of chocolate by now) and have a watch.
It’s really great to see new filmmakers developing, and we can’t wait to see more of this from Jake!
More? Oh, go on then…
This month’s cover star Hazel Hayes definitely didn’t make us a little bit teary-eyed with the moving out/moving in montage in her February Time of The Month, and she also definitely didn’t make us a little bit envious of her BAFTAs adventures! We do love the fly-on-the-wall feeling that this series gives us! (Also, watch out for TenEighty’s own editor supremo making an appearance, and a glimpse behind the scenes of our cover shoot with Hazel!)
Sometimes when you’re worried about your friends, you just need to write them a letter, and that’s just what Clare Cullen has done; to America. Now, if only video responses still existed…
Alfie Deyes uploaded his sixth YouTube Story and boy oh boy, has he had a crazy year! There’s been not just one, but TWO books, waxworks, an office; our head’s spinning just trying to keep up!
