Felix Kjellberg is one of a handful of YouTubers to make Time‘s second annual list.
The list, which was compiled by Time Magazine, is dedicated to celebrating media stars who are utilising the internet to make an impact on a world-wide scale. According to the magazine, those selected for this year’s list were chosen “by looking at their global impact on social media and their overall ability to drive news.”
The 2016 list is made up of a combination of YouTube creators, Hollywood celebrities and Vine stars. Felix Kjellberg is the only UK-based YouTuber to earn a spot on the list, coming in at number nine. He’s joined by Canadian vlogger Lilly Singh, who comes in at number 18, and US vlogger Laci Green, who’s listed in fourth. Others named include author JK Rowling, late night host James Corden, musician Kanye West, and viral stars Josh Holz and Daniel Lara of Damn Daniel fame.
Time‘s list isn’t the first time Felix has been recognised on a global scale. Back in January, he was named one of Forbes‘ 30 Under 30 Europe, as well as one of Britain’s 500 Most Influential.
