Caspar Lee has announced he will be releasing a biography on 31 May.
Currently available for pre-order via Waterstones and Amazon, the release sees Caspar putting his own spin on the YouTuber book trend by involving his mother, Emily Riordan Lee, in the process.
The book, titled Caspar Lee, has been written by Caspar’s mother, who has been featured in many of his videos. It documents her side of Caspar’s life story, from watching him grow up in South Africa to his recent internet fame.
However, throughout the book, Caspar interjects with his own perspective. His input will be formatted as handwritten annotations to his mother’s typeset prose, giving the biography a more personal and involved feeling from both authors.

In a press release, Emily told of how rewarding the writing process has been: “Caspar’s life has been unusual, and a little crazy, and I am so proud to be able to share his formative years. It’s been such a pleasure for us to work together on this project, and I hope people may learn that, even though life can take some unexpected turns, the glass should always be half full.”
As with the book itself, Caspar also had something to add: “It’s been so interesting to hear about all the things my family went through when we were living in South Africa but that I wasn’t aware of because I was too young. Thanks so much to my mum for capturing my story so far and to everyone who has gotten me to this point.”
Since the announcement, Caspar has received encouragement from various YouTubers, including Jim Chapman, Oli White, and former roommate Joe Sugg:
