Speaking to TenEighty, Dodie expressed her excitement about performing at the café: “I heard about it through social media when it first opened, because the internet was going mad about it: the idea of a café that serves cereal! Madness. Sign me up.”
The Cereal Killer café is the UK’s first speciality cereal café, offering over 120 different types of breakfast cereal. It opened in December 2014 and is run by twin brothers Gary and Alan Keery.
The café’s Cereal Sessions will have space for around 70 attendees. Dodie stated that her favourite gigs are intimate ones, saying, “I really feel like people pay attention. Also, I’m quiet, and I work best in smaller crowds.”
Dodie will be playing alongside Conor Coughlan and Keeva at the session. As for what guests can expect from her on the night, she says: “I’d like to put in something with an 80s retro vibe to fit the venue.”
To conclude, Dodie states that her favourite cereal is Golden Nuggets: “I could eat bowls and bowls of that stuff”.
