West End actress and vlogger Carrie Hope Fletcher has cut off 17 inches of her hair in a charity fundraiser.
Carrie announced she would be cutting seven to 12 inches of her hair to donate to the the Little Princess Trust — a charity that provides real-hair wigs for young children across the UK suffering with hair loss — after completing her run in Les Miserables.
As well as cutting her hair, Carrie set up a JustGiving page for donations to the Great Ormond Street Hospital, where the amount raised has already surpassed the initial goal of £10,000.
Writing on the JustGiving page, Carrie said: “As silly as it sounds, my hair means a lot to me. I’ve never had it cut short and it’s always been my insurance that I’ll never get lost in big crowds as my friends always play ‘Spot the Hair’ and find me almost instantly. But as soon as I found out that anyone could donate hair to charity, my mind was made up. So please get donating!”
Carrie cut her hair on 16 February at Artisan Haircutters in in Watford. Pete Bucknall and fellow West End star Emma Kingston accompanied her to the appointment and aided in the haircut. Afterward, Carrie posted several photos of her new style to Twitter and Facebook, and received encouragement from the likes of Sammy Albon and her brother Tom Fletcher.

Donations are still being accepted on the JustGiving page, with Carrie increasing the goal from the surpassed £10,000 to £15,000. Those unable to donate are being encouraged to share the page on social media.
