Dan Howell, Phil Lester, and Zoe Sugg are just some of the YouTubers named in the Debrett’s 500 for 2016, as published in The Sunday Times.
Each year, Debrett’s comes out with its list of the 500 most influential people in Britain, and the 2016 list, also published in The Sunday Times, includes a variety of YouTubers.

According to the Times article, those featured on the list have “through a combination of talent, originality, hard work, persistence, courage and, occasionally, good luck earned the right to make a difference”, as well as the ability to influence people’s lives, ideas and choices.
The list was put together with the help of commentators and experts, with YouTubers being named under the Digital and Social Media category. As well as Dan Howell, Phil Lester, and Zoe Sugg, those mentioned include Tanya Burr, Jamal Edwards, Joe Wicks, Felix Kjellberg, and Gleam managing director Dominic Smales.
This isn’t the first time YouTubers have been featured on prominent media lists. This past November, Mawaan Rizwan was named on The Independent‘s Rainbow List, and in 2014, Alfie Deyes, Tom Cassell and more were named some of the most influential media figures under 30.
