A long time ago on an internet far, far away…
It is a period of ruddy good content. Rebel creators,
striking from a hidden bedroom, have won themselves a place
in this week’s collection of videos (against the evil Galactic Empire.)
During the battle, Rebel creators managed to steal
secret plans to TenEighty’s ultimate weapon, the
Weekly-Round Up, an armored space station with enough
entertainment power to destroy an entire planet.
We think a new film came out this month…
Not sure what it is, though. Oh well. VIDEOS!
Keep Going (Original Song) – Gary C
Now, it’s no secret that the internet loves Mr Gary C and this week has been no exception.
To celebrate the release of his debut EP Walking Wounded, Gary has released a music video for his song Keep Going made by ALL OF YOU LOVELY LOT.
Everyone took their cameras out and sent over clips of them revealing their biggest insecurities and fears, but also reminding us to KEEP. GOING.
No matter what happens, you will always have the strength to keep going, move on and grow.
OKAY, WE’RE NOT CRYING AGAIN. NOPE. JUST BEEN CUTTING ONIONS IS ALL.
Mise-En-Suite – hazgown
MISE-EN-SUITE!!!1!one!
Get it? Like- like the film term? No? Mise-En-Scène?
ANYWAY.
Harry Marshall has come to us this week with a humble, funny video that really proves you don’t need cute fairy lights, ukulele background music or anything like that to be entertaining.
In fact, you can sit on a toilet with no idea of what you plan to say and you can STILL BE GREAT. Thank you for reminding us of that, Haz.
While he “bathes in debt” and unconventionally lights himself, Harry talks to us about student life and his experiences with, can we just say, a GORGEOUS composition.
Go LOOk at this video. LOOk. Like Loo? Okay, we’re DONE with the jokes.
Tea – BeQuietEllie
https://youtu.be/sQCbdn76xIY
Oh, hello. A tea making video. WE LOVE THESE.
(AS LONG AS THEY MAKE THE TEA CORRECTLY. OTHERWISE WE WILL HAVE TO LEAVE A MEAN-SPIRITED COMMENT EXPLAINING HOW TO PROPERLY MAKE A CUPPA *ahem* no shade…)
The latest offering from Ellie, of BeQuiet fame, is no regular tea-making video though. Oh no. We won’t say too much, because #SPOILERZZZ, but give it a watch and we promise you won’t be disappointed.
Also, don’t leave mean-spirited comments on tea-making etiquette pls. EVERYONE MAKES TEA DIFFERENTLY, K?!
Twist and Shout – Jack Howard and Dodie Clark – JackHoward
Our favourite filmmaker with the quiff and glasses, Jack Howard, comes to us this week with a Beatles cover. (ZOMG WE KNOW. OLD SK00L, RIGHT?!)
And, somehow with his editing and filmmaking wizardry, he’s made Dodie Clark‘s hair magically grow back to being long?! Magic. Pure magic.
An adorable cover of Twist and Shout from a ruddy talented pair that contains possibly our FAVOURITE scream-based solo EVER.
Also, let’s talk about the lyric: “Twist your little girl”. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?! IT SOUNDS AWFULLY PAINFUL, BERT.
(Bert Berns wrote the song originally. Ur welcs 4 da trivia.)
12 Christmas Movies in One Take | Hazel Hayes of ChewingSand Has A Field Day – Field Day
Okay. Okay. Okay, hold on. HOLD. ON.
Why, oh WHY did we think Hazel Hayes was going to cover Hotline Bling in the opening scene of this video?
The internet has ruined us.
This week, Hazel worked with Field Day to create this AMAZING VIDEO THAT WE CANNOT SCREAM ABOUT ENOUGH.
Srsly. Go watch it. Merry Christmas. Go watch it now. Are you watching it? Why not? It does EXACTLY what it says on the tin AND THEN SOME.
(We think our caps lock buttON miGHT BE BROKEN…)
So, there you have it! OR DO YOU…
Okay, you don’t get off that easy! YOU WILL WATCH MORE VIDEOS! MORE, WE SAY! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Do you like magic? Niki and Sammy Albon certainly do! In their newest video with crazy magic-witch-man Steven Bridges, they are shocked and baffled as he magicks all over the shop. Check it out.
Jessica Jayne uploaded an on-the-fly cover this week which was adorable in so many ways. YOU DON’T NEED FLASHY EQUIPMENT TO BE GOOD, PEOPLE. REMEMBER THAT. You can watch said cute cover here.
Will ‘Willy-D’ Darbyshire is here this week asking the next question in the quest to form his book This Modern Love which you can read our article on here. Go and get involved!
So, that is ACTUALLY IT, friends! If you think we missed anything this week, leave us a lovely, Christmassy (doesn’t have to be Christmassy) tweet @TenEightyUK or find us on Facebook at TenEightyUK.
