Somehow it’s that time again when YouTube wraps up the last 12 months worth of viral, trending and downright weird and wonderful videos into one heaving mass of YouTubers.
Taking inspiration from all of the major – and, duh, most important – events of the last year, the masterminds at YouTube HQ have once again managed to create a homage to everything we just couldn’t get enough of. Equality, Whipping and Nae Nae-ing, Mad Max: Fury Road and The Dress are all included in this profound representation of the online world in 2015.
At nearly 7 minutes in duration, YouTube Rewind: Now Watch Me 2015 is a pretty long video but somehow it managed to keep us occupied. Here are our thoughts throughout:
1. “Um, what?”
Skeletons were clearly the hottest things to come out of 2015, didn’t you know? It’s like YouTube want it to be Halloween all year (IMAGINE).
2. “Oh.”
It’s not just a skeleton, it’s Lilly Singh, of course! (with OMI’s Cheerleader as the backing track, a perfect example of a song that needs to be eradicated from our lives. Disagree? Fight us.)
3. “That is the most inclusive but uninviting cruise liner we’ve ever seen.”
Seriously, we’re getting major cargo ship vibes here.
4. “Only three people chose to board…”
And they’re having the most fun EVER. Everybody loves a ball pit.
5. “Hey, they even managed to include the really niche sailing community!”
Their hauls are to DIE for.
6. “This is honestly the coolest child we have ever seen.”

7. “Look at the sorrow in Left Shark’s eyes, poor dear.”
If you peer very closely you can just see Left Shark mouthing, “every moment I live is agony” as they’re forced to dance out the side of a vandalised school bus.
8. “There’s a lot going on here.”
(Including a not-so-subtle acknowledgement that YouTube is on an equal footing with TV – YAAAS, go Grace!)
9. “Are you kidding me?! JUST DO ITTTTTTT.”
OK, so there is no way to phonetically write out Miranda Sing’s accent but you READ IT IN HER VOICE ANYWAY DON’T DENY IT.
10. “THIS GUY.”
The true hero in this story. We hope your family remains well-fed, Pizza Rat.
11. “Which YouTuber is this?”
They look like they’re desperately trying to be funny but there’s no avoiding the utter misery in their eyes. Could be a prank channel?
12. “OMG it’s a Shia/Sia rap battle!”
Disappointingly this was not actually the case.
13. “I did not sign up for this” – Zoe Sugg
WHAT IS HAPPENING?! Yikes.
14. “OWNAGE 2015”
Is ‘ownage’ still a thing? ROFL (ew). Either way, Alfie, you need to start doing some stretches mate.
15. “This is unbelievably cute.”
But also, here’s a phanfic that contains the line: “…kissing and biting all the way down”. Kinda related.
