Pretty much every day on YouTube, we see creators collaborating with other creators. And we love it.
But sometimes, sometimes you wonder: what would it be like if they were collaborating with someone outside of YouTube, someone completely different. One of those shiny celebrity-types, maybe?
Well sometimes, sometimes you get you want. Here’s five of the best of them!
5. Prank calls with The Vamps | Ebony Day
In this video Ebony Day joins up with the four guys from The Vamps for some good old fashioned prank calls. The aim of the game? Get as many lyrics from a song into a call as they can. Nando’s gets to hear about the guy of James’s wildest dreams, while Ebony calmly tells the lady in the tea shop she got lost in the game.
With certain YouTubers making prank videos beyond the pale these days, it’s good to remind yourself it doesn’t have to be like that. You don’t need to be shocking to be entertaining, you can be lighthearted and harmless and still produce hilarious content like this!
4. Skincare + Health Routine with Shakira | Melanie Murphy
Wouldn’t you love to know what an international superstar does to keep at the top of their game? Especially when that superstar is the original She-Wolf Shakira? Well thanks to Melanie Murphy, you now can!
The two chat all things health and beauty in this video, including the reassuring revelations that Shakira is a) a chocoholic like the rest of us (well, maybe not you, but we’re writing this while gulping down handfuls of that sweet cocoa goodness), and b) fallible like the rest of us, being slightly misinformed about sunscreen. (For a crash course in SPF click here. Stay safe in the sun people!)
For a self-proclaimed fangirl, we think Melanie keeps it together pretty well throughout the video. If it were us in her place we’re pretty sure our constant internal screaming would become external, and probably scare Shakira away.
3. Bedroom Advice ft. Maisie Williams | Caspar Lee
Caspar Lee is joined by Game of Thrones and Doctor Who star Maisie Williams in this video to dispense some advice. It might not be useful advice, and none of it is particularity bedroom-related (if that’s what the title led you to believe) but it’s still advice anyways. If we’re honest, we found it difficult to concentrate on a lot of what they were saying thanks to those t-shirts (and hope they were swiftly burned after the making of this video).
We think Maisie took to YouTube like a duck to water here, and were super stoked when she later set up her own channel. Sadly, she’s yet to upload a second video. Come on Maisie, we know you’re super busy being a super talented actress and all BUT WE DEMAND CONTENT!
2. How to act like a Harry Potter Wizard! | Hazel Hayes ft. Warwick Davis
Like the rest of the internet we here at TenEighty HQ are pretty big Harry Potter fans, and remain convinced our Hogwarts letters just got lost due to an admin error. So we were pretty jealous when Hazel Hayes received wizarding (or rather witching) lessons from Professor Flitwick himself, Warwick Davis. While the lesson itself might not be the most elucidating, there’s no doubt Hazel and Warwick make a highly entertaining partnership we want to see more of!
And as if that weren’t enough, Hazel’s bestie Louise Pentland also turns up to face her in a wand duel. Louise’s “with intent” face may be our favourite Louise face yet, and we’d probably have crowned her the winner solely because of it. Sorry Hazel!
1. 7 Second Challenge with Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth | Dan Howell
We’re not quite sure who signed off letting Hunger Games stars Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson be in the same room as Dan Howell, but boy are we glad that they did! The interview is all kinds of awkward, and it all begins with Dan announcing he’s brought his favourite scented candle along. We’re not sure that toasted marshmallow is the best aroma for an interview, we’d probably just spend the whole thing feeling hungry and craving food (and judging by Jennifer’s reaction to that muffin, she feels the same).
Dan gets the three of them to play the 7 Second Challenge, and they manage to pick it up quite well, especially Josh. It’s a pretty great interview once you get past the awkwardness, and we can’t wait to see who he’s allowed to interview next, and more importantly, what candle he brings along. (And if you want more Hunger Games-based content, why not check out when we imagined what Panem might look like if it were populated by YouTubers!)
