Hello…
It’s us. We were wondering if after all these years (a week) you’d like to meet (read a weekly round-up) to go over everything (the best videos of the week).
They say that time’s supposed to heal ya, but we ain’t done much healing (but we have done a fair amount of SCREAMING at the quality of uploads this week).
HELLO FROM THE OTHER SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII- *ahem* sorry.
We got a little carried away there.
HAVE SOME VIDEOS.
Some Words About Terror – Francesca Georgiou
There have been some horrifying events across the world of late.
If you could spare 30 seconds, this poem from Francesca Georgiou passionately discusses the atrocities people across the globe are currently experiencing.
It’s so important to not stop talking about issues that affect so many. We salute you for continuing the conversation, Fran.
Retail Me This | Mary Akemon – Mary Akemon
Oh, Mary Akemon. You so #RELATABLE, #FUNNY and #WELLLIT (we realise the last one’s a stretch, but the video is really well lit- like, what do you want us to put? #prolighting? Actually, that sounds a bit better…)
In her latest video, Mary discusses the problems she’s faced when working in retail.
With topics ranging from messy kids, to hanging around in the shop for longer than the socially accepted duration of browse-time allows. (We think maybe the customers all just thought you were super pretty and wanted to be around you, Mary. Just our prediction.)
Thank you for sharing this video with us, self-titled: Mary “complaining” Akemon. We hope any future jobs are less stressful for you, although, now we know what bugs you about customers in shops we have leverage. Just saying.
Fall Lookbook 2015 | Ali Lightfoot (0HeadlessChicken0) – Ali Lightfoot
Now, we know you’ve all seen a Fall Lookbook before. Light leaks, delicious composition and MASS AMOUNTS OF CLOTHES ENVY.
But this addition to the lookbook trend from Ali Lightfoot may not be exactly what you were expecting…
We won’t say too much cus #spoilers, but we think we know which clip you cracked your rib in, Ali. We won’t tell anyone, though, dw m8 ur secret is safe.
Fall For You – Bethan Leadley (feat. YouTubers) – musicalbethan
K, our hearts have grown 3 sizes bigger (a lollipop for whoever gets the reference) after watching this lovely new video from Bethan Mary Leadley this week.
Featuring, well, BASICALLY EVERYONE (it’s fine, Bethan, we’re sure our invite was just lost in the post) this music video for Bethan’s song Fall For You from her new EP is so sweet we don’t think we’ll be able to eat the Twix we’d left in the fridge for a treat. Yes, in the fridge. Try it. Trust us.
PS, Daniel J Layton, your dance moves in this are nothing short of PERFECTION.
The Party. – justkissmyfrog
Improvised story-telling? TICK.
Adorable fringe? TICK.
Camera angle that makes you feel like you’re engaging in a friendly chat? TICK.
Leena Normington of ‘frogsnog’ fame has brought us an improv story this week (HOW COOL IS THAT IDEA LIKE SRSLY?!).
Proof that you don’t need to spend hours and hours toiling over a script to make an engaging and entertaining video, Leena chats about her experiences at a party. A silent party with loud crisps. Watch the video, it’ll make sense.
We feel that Leena’s demonstrating an idea once brought up by famous philosopher Shia LaBeouf. If you want to make a video, write a story or create almost anything in the world:
JUST DO IT.
HELLO FROM THE OUTSII- sorry- that keeps happening this week…
MORE VIDEOS, YOU SAY? Aye, aye cap’n!
Hattie Clark uploaded a lovely vlog about art, hot chocolate and underwear. An interesting combination, we know. And, as it turns out an extremely good one. Check it out here.
Bunny Hopkins uploaded a video documenting the spontaneous tattoo she had permanently etched on her skin on Friday the 13th! Did we need to phrase it like that? No. But we wanted to.
If you haven’t already been blown away by how brilliant Dodie Clark‘s new song is, you can do so now. Do it. JUST DO IT. (Thanks again, Shia).
So, that’s that! You’ve read, you’ve enjoyed (we’re sure!) but you’ve thought to yourself: “WHY WASN’T THIS VIDEO THAT I WATCHED IN THIS LIST?!” and you can share that video (or any other you’d like) with us on Twitter @TenEightyUK or on Facebook at TenEightyUK.
