The book’s original release date has been pushed back by four months.
Blink Publishing, the company behind the release of Alfie Deyes‘ The Pointless Book series, have announced that Alfie’s third book, The Scrapbook of My Life, will hit shelves on 24 March 2016. Back in August, Alfie made a separate announcement that he was working on a book unrelated to The Pointless Books, stating it was “not a biography”.
Originally slated for a November 2015 release, The Scrapbook of My Life is said to give readers the opportunity to “record their own lives alongside Deyes, by sticking in photographs, completing facts and stats, and collecting souvenirs”.
Perminder Mann, managing director of Blink, told The Bookseller: “Alfie’s third book is a bit of a departure from the two Pointless books, which have preceded [it]. In this one, he’s giving readers more insight into his life before he began vlogging. This is a really special offering for his viewers and one in which they can also participate, by scrapbooking their own lives as they read about his.”
Like Alfie’s previous titles, The Pointless Book, The Pointless Book 2 and The Pointless Collection, The Scrapbook of My Life will also have an optional free downloadable app. Using the app, readers will be able to interact with Alfie’s story and also share their own.
In 2014, Alfie signed a two-book deal with Blink to release a sequel to The Pointless Book and a “differently themed concept book”. Blink were the first publisher to collaborate with a YouTuber.
