The pair appeared on the news show as part of their promotional circuit for Oscar’s Hotel.
While on the show, PJ and Chris spoke about the ideas and inspiration behind Oscar’s Hotel and how it went from being a short film to a six episode series on Vimeo On Demand. PJ also discussed his hopes for continuing the series in the future, as he’s thought up many more adventures to be had at the hotel.
Good Day LA is just one of many PJ and Chris have appeared on in support of Oscar’s Hotel, with the pair also visiting the set of Access Hollywood. There are also various billboards across the US advertising the series.
Last year, New Form Digital helped fund the initial short film for Oscar’s Hotel, with Vimeo later picking it up – along with Sawyer Hartman’s The Parallax Theory – as a series for their on-demand service. Speaking with TenEighty, New Form Digital’s Chief Creative Officer Kathleen Grace discussed how the company and PJ came together to work on Oscar’s Hotel:
“We had been following PJ’s work for a while and really loved his previous shorts. The care he put into Bloom and the playful quality of shorts like PJ, Tiny Planet Explorer. He really knew how to create compelling worlds. When he pitched us the short we saw this is was a culmination of all of his work and we wanted to be a part of it.”
She later went on to mention the relationship PJ’s team had with those working at Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, the company known for creating creatures for films like Where The Wild Things Are and The Muppets:
“PJ, Jamie, Louis, Sophie and all of the Henson Creature Shop were amazing. The best part of New Form Digital is that we get to help filmmakers’ dreams come true. Getting to see how PJ and the team just clicked with the Henson team and the entire Oscar’s Hotel crew was extremely fulfilling.”
