IT’S BEEN A WHOLE ENTIRE WEEK…
…and the pain that is post-SitC blues is still coursing through our veins. But all wounds heal with time and content creators keep creating and pumping wonderful content out of their video super-soakers (are they still relevant?).
So sit back, click play on these videos and prepare to get sprayed! (Seriously though – if you still have your super-soaker, let us know. We have a stock-room full of them at TenEighty HQ.)
London 2015 – Frazer Varney
Someone DIDN’T attend SitC weekend? Shame. Shame. Shame. *rings bell*
Move over, Casey Neistat – Frazer Varney is gonna give you a run for your money. Beautiful time-lapses, atmospheric background music and SO MANY OTHER PRETTY THINGS. Give it a click to feel inspired. (Also, we forgive you for not being at SitC because clearly you went to Harry Potter world. You’re on thin ice though, just fyi.)
ULTIMATE FRESHERS UNI GUIDE – Niki and Sammy Albon
Is it really that time of year again? The kids are going back to school, and the bigger kids are now heading to uni. If you’re one of the latter we’re sure it’s an exciting yet scary and confusing time for you. But have no fear! Niki and Sammy Albon are here! (Yeah, only the freshest rhymes here at TenEighty HQ.)
In one of the biggest twists revealed online to date, the twins divulge that they were once freshers and then list off their top tips for surviving your first year at uni.
In all seriousness, a lot of these tips are helpful and are likely to be things you weren’t worrying about beforehand. Trust the twins and us when we say you should be worrying about these things. Constantly. They will become the bane of your life and you should adhere to everything they recommend as if your life depends on it.
YOU’RE ALL BEAUTIFUL – Bethan Mary Leadley
We know we are, Bethan. We know. A lovely, candid video from Bethan Mary Leadley this week.
It really is a difficult beast loving yourself and Bethan talks honestly about this in her latest offering. The world is full of beautiful people and BETHAN YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL, TOO. *cue James Blunt*
JUST TALK ABOUT IT!!! – Jazza John
Our lovely Jazza John has done it again this week. In his equivalent of a Shia LaBeouf motivational speech (albeit calmer and more articulate), Jazza talks about a conversation he’d had with his dad about cat-calling and the proliferation of street harassment.
He rallies up his YouTube troops and – as the title would suggest – asks his viewers to talk about the issues we face in society in order to enact change. YES, JAZZMAN. YES. (Can we call you Jazzman? We’re gonna call you Jazzman.)
Summer In The City 2015! – Melanie Murphy
Many a post-SitC vlog has been uploaded since the event two weekends back, yet no one else has achieved to cram as much as Melanie Murphy has into this mammoth recap.
It’s got everything: car journeys; flights; green room exclusives; Daniel J Layton; pub crawls; panel commentary; rides of the golf buggie; Jonathan Saccone-Joly; main stage action; Hazel Hayes and her fabulous outfit changes; boat parties; more Daniel J Layton; cupcakes; clips from the #YouTubeHonestyHour panel; Helen Anderson; mannequins abandoned at the merch stand; EVEN MORRREEEE Daniel J Layton; and Riyadh Khalaf showing off his sexual moves on top of Jack Howard.
Honestly, it’s a beast. And while TenEighty’s coverage of Summer in the City was pretty great, we regret not contacting Melanie beforehand to be our official backstage reporter. Hmp *frowny face emoji*.
Not had enough?! Okay, well maybe a TINY bit more…
Injecting a lovely moment of peace and serenity this week is LadyIoan who pieced together some lovely shots of the coast with calming sounds of the ocean. Ahhhhh; just what we needed after a hectic SitC weekend.
Dane Cobain uploaded a poem this week. We watched it whilst making awkward rapper hand motions. Maybe you will, too.
Jamie Spicer-Lewis gave us a real reality check this week with his video Smile. We don’t want to say too much about this one; it’s moving and powerful enough in its self.
Now, we know we’re all brilliant here at TenEighty HQ but we sure can miss things. What do you think should’ve been in the round-up this week? Let us know on Twitter @TenEightyUK or drop us a line on the ol’ Facebooks at TenEightyUK.
