Got the post-Summer in the City Blues?
We do too. The amazing weekend of panels, meet & greets and stellar performances has come to an end and in its place a void of despair and emptiness has appeared (too much?). Don’t fret though, because we here at TenEighty have got your YouTube fix. We’ve gathered a handful of videos you might have missed amidst this weekend’s excitement for your viewing entertainment.
So sit back, turn the volume up full-blast and enjoy this collection of vlogs, film trailers and much, much more!
BLUE SUSHI – film trailer – Bertie Gilbert & Sammy Paul
It’s here. It’s finally here.
Bertie Gilbert and Sammy Paul have finally release the trailer for their upcoming short film, Blue Sushi. Following the journey of a transgender teen as they begin publicly identifying as male, Blue Sushi is a film that’s sure to be a shining light in both filmmakers’ catalogues – honestly, have you read the comment section? People are beyond stoked, so much so that we’re sure they “can’t even” (we know we can’t).
Watch the trailer. And then watch it again. And again. You know what, we suggest you keep it on loop until the actual film comes out in a few weeks. It’s seriously that good.
They Call Him Hinge Joint – itsamemyleo
MYLES WHEELER HAS RELEASED A NEW VIDEO. WE REPEAT, MYLES HAS RELEASED A NEW VIDEO.
Pinch us, we must be dreaming.
We’d apologise for our excitement, but this is a pretty big deal. The day a new itsamemyleo video appears in our sub box is a good day – a very good day – and it needs to be celebrated. This 21-minute vlog (Myles doesn’t disappoint in his comeback) is like catching up with an old friend and includes his signature flare for the unique. Don’t believe us? Just check out the ultra-skilled pictures of cavemen he’s drawn for us. Seriously, how is his art not in a museum, selling for millions of pounds? Beats us.
Oh Myles, we’ve missed you. Please, don’t leave us again. We don’t think we could handle it.
SiTC 2015 – Good Morning YouTube – Chris Foxx
Good Morning YouTube has returned for its second episode and what better way to make its return than at Summer in the City?! Hosted by the charming Chris Foxx and the dashing Lewis Parker, GMY was able to catch all of this weekend’s excitement and even managed to get an interview with Tom Burns and Liam Dryden, two of the guys behind SitC.
They even managed to add a sneaky little shoutout to TenEighty, which we think is pretty swell. We mean, we were obviously the reason why anyone even decided to come to this year’s gathering, so it would have been rather rude not to include us.
Also, Tom Ridgewell, how do you feel about being Jason’s second favourite YouTuber? Better yet, who is his first favourite? These are the questions we need answered!
Say Anything Challenge w/ Brad from the Vamps – Laurbubble
OMG, did you see Laurbubble‘s new video with Brad from The Vamps? NO?! Well, it’s a good thing we decided to include it in this week’s round-up, innit?
Once you get over how dreamy Brad looks, press play and watch as he and Laura take part in the Say Anything Challenge. Don’t know what it is? Well, it’s a challenge where you basically say anything, whatever you’d like. It also includes tape and funny faces, but we’re too lazy to spell out all the rules for you.
Laura always gets to collab with the coolest people. We hope she invites us round the next time.
My Anxiety – tyrannosauruslexxx
Sharing her own experiences with anxiety, Lex Croucher‘s latest video is relatable and a must watch if you are dealing (or have dealt) with it. Mental Illness is becoming more and more prevalent in society and it’s important for us to share our experiences and talk about coping mechanisms, things Lex openly advocate.
So grab a pen and paper and take her tips into consideration. Love your mind and take care of it. You can’t take care of your physical health until your mental health is dealt with – we know you all know that, but we just wanted to give you a little reminder. We love you and don’t want to see you guys dealing with all this alone, okay? We got your backs.
You want more, you say?!
Well, it’s a good thing some of us were paying attention to our sub boxes while everyone else was partying and attending Summer in the City.
Tom Fletcher and his super adorable son Buzz covered Justin Bieber’s Baby and you know what, we dare you to watch it without saying “aww”. We bet you £100 that you can’t. It’s seriously that cute.
Dodie Clark and Lucy Moon have uploaded an advice video, covering everything from getting a crush to like you to dealing with dreaded periods, and it even includes a Hannah Montana sing along. They’re seriously the best kind.
Did you see that Daniel J. Layton covered Walk The Moon’s Shut Up and Dance? It’s pretty swell and we highly recommend you give it a listen. Your ears will thank you.
Did we miss any videos this week? Berate us with angry tweets at @TenEightyUK or leave us a mean comment on Facebook at TenEighty UK. Don’t worry, we can take it (although probably not, so please be kind).
PS. Want to relive all the Summer in the City 2015 fun? We documented the whole weekend and have everything you need to keep you sated until next year’s gathering.
