Jack & Dean, Benjamin Cook and Emily Diana Ruth have released their shorts via Ron Howard’s film company.
The collection, dubbed the Incubator 2 series, was initially announced back in February, with a total of ten films being commissioned and funded by New Form Digital.
The three projects by Jack Howard & Dean Dobbs, Benjamin Cook and Emily Diana Ruth debuted on their respective YouTube channels on 16 June after trailers for each were released earlier in the month. Each film took on its own genre, with Jack & Dean creating a caper piece, Ben opting to focus on a dark comedy and Emily, a drama. This year’s selections also featured cameos from US vlogger, Mitchell Davis.
Ghost Fighting Corporation – Jack & Dean
After discovering their flat is haunted, Jack & Dean enlist the help of Lucy, a self-proclaimed supernatural expert they discovered on Google. However, things aren’t quite what they seem and soon the trio find themselves in a position they didn’t foresee coming.
The film features Fresh Meat‘s Sophie Wu as Lucy and comedian/rapper Doc Brown.
The Imp of the Perverse – Benjamin Cook
18-year-old Dan has a monster trapped in his wardrobe. He’s locked it in there for three days, guarding it constantly to ensure it doesn’t escape. But what exactly is the Imp of the Perverse, and how long can Dan keep it confined? It has to be let out sooner or later.
Cold – Emily Diana Ruth
Isla is on a journey to discover the truth about her past. Adopted at the age of three, she runs away from home to a quiet Ontario, Canada town in search of answers. However, what she discovers might not be what she wants to hear.
Last year’s selections included the closing chapter of Tim Hautekiet‘s Bad Burglars trilogy, Bertie Gilbert‘s Killed the Cat and PJ Liguori‘s Oscar’s Hotel, the latter of which has been picked up by Vimeo for a 10-episode series.
