Another week, another ton of YouTube videos to wade through…
In true TenEighty style we’ve selected the best bits from YouTubers you probably know about – plus some you might not – all for your enjoyment.
Now make a brew, sit back, relax and treat yo’self. You deserve it.
SPACE QUEST – a short by bertie gilbert (2015) – Bertie Gilbert Films
A long time ago, on a video-sharing website far, far away, an unlikely trio led by Bertie Gilbert appeared… It was a period of abundant haul videos.
Alternative filmmakers, uploading from a niche area of the Tube have won their first victory against the forces of the What’s In My Bag empire…
You get the idea. This video contains the line: “Hack the mainframe!” and perhaps one or two sci-fi cliché’s thrown in there too. It’s brilliant (also just to clarify, we LOVE haul videos.)
RORSCH X1 3D Printed Airsoft Rifle – scoutthedoggie
Here’s a treat for any gamers who are fans of Battlefield 4 – Scout has found a guy who has made a replica, working rifle from the game itself (the RORSCH X1).
If we’ve interpreted the video correctly the whole thing was made using a standard desktop printer. Mind-blowing. The “200 hours of printing” must have been tiring with numerous ink cartridge changes, while we presume the maker constructed the rifle using some kind of intricate origami technique.
Stay tuned for when TenEighty delves deeper into more topics we have absolutely no idea about.
Charlie Charlie pencil game (GONE WRONG) Did you see the Demon?!?! – TwinCoconuts
We’re not going to lie, this Charlie Charlie business is really starting to get on our tits. We originally thought it might be linked to McDonnell but everyone seems terrified by the results of this game so it can’t be anything to do with sweet ol’ CoolLike.
The guys from TwinCoconuts, however, met someone who wasn’t as welcome. Since we don’t get to see what happened after said person appeared, we like to think they might have sat down together and had a friendly drink, maybe went to the park with a frisbee or possibly even scrolled through Tumblr together. Just a couple of guys and a demon being good friends, you know. Guy pals.
Tongue Jammer /w FreshlyDan! – WhatPhillSays
Is Phill Vidler a cruel friend? Only you can decide.
This week he’s grabbed his tongue jammer (sidenote: that sounds filthy) and some guests to create this hot mess. We can’t do tongue twisters normally, let alone with our own voice echoing in our ears. As the video goes on, however, it becomes clear that Phill might actually be pretty good at them, making us think the whole challenge might be slightly one-sided…
May Favourites 2015! – Beautycrush
Sammi Maria is living the dream. She’s just launched her new clothing line (deets at the beginning of the video) and has found lots of lovely things this month. Foundations, creams, candles and shoes – she covers it all.
This is one of those videos that you just KNOW smelled really good when filming.
WARNING: After effects of watching this video may include the desperate urge to run out and buy all of the products mentioned. Lock away your money before you press the play button.
The we-couldn’t-fit-these-videos-in-the-main-bit but-they’re-still-really-good section…
Oli White and Jim Chapman on one screen together covered in thick, creamy yolk WOAH STOP NOW TENEIGHTY YOU BEAST. Find out who gets the stickiest here.
Getting only slightly less messy are PJ Liguori, Chris Kendall and Mitchell Davis; all contained in what looks like some very comfy hammocks (until there’s a flamethrower incident). They chat about their latest project Oscar’s Hotel and we’re just generally starting to get more than a little bit over-excited about the whole thing. In fact we wrote a whole news story about it too. Yippee!
The Harry Potter books may have been concluded in 2007 (OMG THAT WAS EIGHT YEARS AGO OMG) but Hannah Anderson has some very strong opinions on Severus Snape and she is here to explain them. Five whole minutes worth. Damn.
