Every week we find all of the best bits from YouTube that you may or may not have seen.
This week we’ve got fashion, food, beauty vlogger honesty and some serious sass. It’s a winning combination that we guarantee will leave you satisfied and feeling great. No, no, it’s our PLEASURE offering you this wonderful service. Now go! Go and let your eyes and ears feast upon the delights ahead of you.
British Cold Spring | Lookbook – Marzia Bisognin
Dear TenEighty readers, we all know what it’s like having to deal with the weather Britain throws at us. The drizzle, the not-quite-sure-whether-it’s-warm-enough-to-wear-shorts kinda days and endless moaning – it’s all just part of being British.
Having sampled these delights, Marzia Bisognin offers up a whopping six different looks for us to choose from to tackle our climate and still look fabulous. This lookbook isn’t just some frivolous exercise in spring fashion – it’s essential knowledge for anyone looking to stay chic during the wetter months. Bye bye onesie-wearing, reclusive you; HELLO confident, stylish fashionista! (Yes, we sound like a makeover show and we’re fine with that).
Literally Nothing – Episode 1 – Dominic Sizer
Dominic Sizer’s uploads aren’t exactly the most regular these days, but it seems like in the meantime he’s just storing up a heck-load of sass and unleashing it all in one video.
He covers a variety of topics including throwing up in public toilets, the realities of bath bombs and just how difficult life is as a white male. It’s compelling viewing only interrupted by Dom serving endless sarcasm and ‘soccer-mom realness’.
Funny Quizzes!! Feat. YesIamJasper – Alex Thomas
Well, we don’t know about you but [I’M FEELING TWENTY-TWO] we’ve always wanted to know which of the several ‘warrior cats’ Alex Thomas represents best. OK no, we have no idea what they are either nor, does it seem, do Alex or Jasper.
In fact, we found it hard to find a part of this video that didn’t leave us scratching our heads in confusion and then realising just how many awful quizzes there are out on the Internet. Alas, so little time to complete them all.
Side note: look out for a particularly good YAAS-ing session mid way through.
GRWM – How I SHOULD get ready for work! – Louise Pentland
If there’s one YouTuber you know you can count on for brutal – and hilarious – honesty, it’s Louise Pentland.
A lot of beauty vloggers give off the pretense that, quite simply, they woke up like this. And stayed like this all morning, and all day at work. Louise, on the other hand, is happy to reveal that her pre-work routine doesn’t quite follow that model. Her mornings involve staying in bed, taking selfies and looking at blogs devoted to the hunk of man-flesh that is Joey Graceffa.
Seriously though, we’re glad that just for the sake of this video Louise had that wonderful bath at the beginning of the video. Find us an empty tub and a bath bomb immediately.
#FoodRevolutionDay Song – Jamie Oliver
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Ug_vpIk1jc
Wolverine. SINGING. OK, maybe more like rapping. OK, maybe something in between – we’re not actually that sure, but still. Kudos to Jamie Oliver for casually getting the X-Men star to take part in this (his biggest singing role since Les Mis).
He’s done school dinners (sorry, can the people at the back please be quiet please, we don’t want anyone complaining around here thank you) and now he’s moving on to the wider picture. Some people have no food at all, others have way more than they need. It isn’t fair and Jamie wants to do something about it.
Smear a little bit of Ed Sheeran into this mix and we’ve got quite the message before our eyes. Stay tuned until the end to catch the CUTEST KIDS EVER. They’re dressed as food! It’s all a bit too much.
Don’t worry, of course there’s more!
Rosianna Halse Rojas has some pretty big news (which, as she immediately clarifies, is NOT a book). Kinda hard not to ruin the surprise, but safe to say we’ll miss her. WAIT NO, THAT SOUNDS LIKE SHE’S GIVING UP YOUTUBE. Argh, no. Just watch the video.
22 minutes of Dodie Clark. OK., it’s a lot, but it’s all great, and there’s a bunch of other people we know and love in there too. Now we just want to buy a minibus and go on tour with them all.
Fancy something different? Check out our article Haters And Trolls: How Do We Control Them? in which we discuss the history of trolling and how current content creators deal with them.
Who did we miss this week? We’d LOVE to know, and we’re always on the lookout for new people. If you see anything good then please let us know via Twitter @TenEightyUK or on Facebook.
