The fashion vlogger has collaborated with artist Jeremy Boydell for the launch of BCKY X SLIMGILTSOUL.
Beckii Cruel has announced the launch of her third fashion collection, BCKY X SLIMGILTSOUL. Released through her bcky couture line and created in collaboration with artist Jeremy Boydell, the collection features seven new items, which are available through the bcky couture online store.
“It’s been a real learning curve to transition from being a curator and blogger of fashion, to actually designing and manufacturing my own garments and creating a brand,” says Beckii about the ranges. “As somebody who is always working in the fashion industry from a consumer standpoint, I’m always seeing the same cuts and fabrics used from brand to brand, and it easily becomes tiring. That’s why I wanted to make sure that this collection was completely unique.”
The uniqueness Beckii speaks of comes from both herself and Boydell designing “two unique fabrics, which have been hand-crafted into four cotton garments and three silk accessories”. Beckii describes the new collection as “beautiful with the unexpected” and believes it will “give the prints a wide appeal”.
BCKY X SLIMGILTSOUL also sees bcky couture delving into unisex design, with the collection featuring no gendered clothing and instead opting for a design that’ll fit a variety of shapes and sizes.
“I had someone recently write to me asking if he could wear high-waisted shorts, even though he was a boy,” says Beckii. “Fashion should be something that we are free to express ourselves with, and sometimes its feels like you can only express yourself half as much if you’re only able to shop half the store.”
Due to the variation in prints, all items are “one-of-a-kind”, and each will be shipped with its own unique branded gift box.
