Remember the good ole’ days, when videos were filmed on dinky little webcams and featured the coolest iMovie effects?
Well YouTubers do! And they keep reminding us of those dark days by filming their reactions online. So we’ve compiled five of the best YouTubers reacting to their old videos and let us tell you now: they’re downright hilarious.
In these videos, you’ll be treated to the joy that is your favourite YouTubers cringing, hiding and often berating themselves over their (often privated) first videos. Long gone are the days when these guys were awkward teenagers filming on a webcam. Thankfully, they’ve decided to relive their embarrassing pasts for our entertainment.
5. COKE AND MILK | Reaction Video – Cherry Wallis
Coke and Milk is currently the most popular video on Cherry Wallis‘ channel and has spawned countless responses from YouTubers worldwide. The video’s now three years old, so obviously, Cherry had to re-watch it and bring us along for the ride. What makes this video so funny is that you can almost feel how much Cherry is embarrassed by her old self.
We genuinely lost count over how often she yelled at herself for talking to the coke bottle on her desk. We don’t know why she’s so hard on herself: we’ve always thought that coke bottles have some pretty interesting things to say.
The real question here is if anyone else has ever actually tried the milk and coke challenge. If you have, can you let us know? We’d try it ourselves, but, you know, we’re just so busy…
4. REACTING TO MY OLD VIDEOS – Lewis Parker
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgvJwUX5cRM
Lewis Parker has been making videos for two years now and boy, have they been a hilarious few years. What we learnt from watching this video is that he absolutely rocks a bowl-cut, he doesn’t really have an unhealthy obsession with Apple products and that pick-up lines don’t actually work – who knew?!
Lewis, we have one request and that is to bring back the bowl-cut. We really think you could start a new trend. No, really, we’re serious, just give it a go.
3. Dan Reacts to His Old Videos – Dan Howell
Let’s be honest, everyone knows how much Dan Howell hates his old videos, so it was only a matter of time until a reaction video graced his channel.
Bringing us way back to the way YouTube looked back in the day (does anyone remember the awesomeness that was customisable backgrounds?), Dan lets us view his physical torment at watching himself get mauled by a stuffed polar bear, dancing to techno music and pouring yoghurt all over his face. He can’t even make ten seconds in without shielding his eyes.
We just wanted to thank Dan for keeping these videos up for all to see. He’s doing a great service to the world and for that, we have to say he’s hella rad (yes, we did just say that).
2. Reacting To Unseen Awkward ThatcherJoe Vids – Joe Sugg
In this video, Joe Sugg treats us to some never-before-seen footage from his early days on YouTube, and let us tell you, it’s comedy gold. We’re able to view young Joe’s humble beginnings: from the time he needed sister Zoe to help him with virtually everything to the time he went ‘zorbing’ with Alfie Deyes (side note: what exactly is zorbing? We’d really like to know).
His reactions will have you falling off your chairs with laughter. We salute Joe for allowing us to bask in the hilarity that is his younger, more embarrassing self.
1. Reacting to my Old Videos – Evan Edinger & Dodie Clark
We absolutely love Evan Edinger and Dodie Clark‘s friendship, so it only seems right that the two of them would make a video reacting to some of Evan’s old videos. The results will have you laughing so hard you’ll think you burst a gut.
Yep, you’ll probably find yourself overrun with the giggles as you watch these two tear apart young Evan’s brilliant editing skills and superb – no, not superb, mindblowing – graphics and you’ll be wishing you had hair as cool as his.
So there you have it…
Five of the Best: YouTubers react to old videos. We hope you enjoyed the cringing, the head-banging and the overall embarrassment these guys had to go through in order to bring you the laughs you are currently experiencing.
Personally, we found ourselves feeling a bit nostalgic, but that could just be the milk and coke talking – who knows? Let us know if you agree with our choices by shooting us a tweet at @TenEightyUK.
