The YouTuber has launched a fundraising campaign to raise £133,337 for the charity.
Tom Cassell is currently in the middle of a fundraising campaign to raise over £130,000 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association. The charity aims to improve care and support for people affected by MND as well as fund and promote research into the disease, for which there is currently no cure.
Tom is running the fundraiser in memory of his grandmother, who passed away after a two-year battle with the disease. Sharing her battle on his Just Giving page, he wrote:
“It came from nowhere and destroyed her life. Her body was [falling] apart, but her mental state was still there and that more than anything was the saddest thing for me. Seeing someone who was so active and had so much passion to do things… simply couldn’t.”
Throughout the week, Tom will be hosting live streams on his Twitch channel. Along with donations brought in via Just Giving and text, he will also be adding the revenue from the live stream ads and channel subscriptions to the overall total raised.
Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan has already pledged £10,000 to the initiative.
.@ProSyndicate well, I'll kick it off with a personal donation of £10,000. Let's make this happen.
