It’s CHRIIISTMAAASSS!
Of course, we couldn’t forget the Weekly Round-Up, so have a look while you’re tucked up in front of the fire with a cup of cocoa or fighting with siblings over who gets to pull the last Christmas cracker…
Christmas Jokes IN OUTER SPACE – Chris Foxx
It might not be Movember any more but mustaches are back in with this joketacular video spoof from Chris Foxx… we mean… two genuine astronauts from the International Space Station.
We’ve always wondered what it’s like to spend Christmas in outer space, up until now we’ve only had Doctor Who Christmas specials to go on, but now we know with this video from 100% authentic astronauts. Have we mentioned that these are definitely actual astronauts beaming their videos down from outer space? Honest.
Extreme Assault Course | Walters & Shieff – Flow
Parkour and stunt athletes, Damien Walters and Tim Shieff, have massive followings on YouTube for their amazing videos which include a myriad of death-defying physical feats.
Their series on YouTube.com/Flow, the UK parkour network, Walters & Shieff, has seen them undress themselves with back flips, and-stand bench presses and unbelievable calisthenics exercises.
In their latest series they are taking on the best of the UK military, the Royal Marines, as a batch of new recruits are put through their paces for basic training. It’s a great insight of how hard these guys really work! We also love Tim’s facial hair. It seems like we have an accidental theme in this week’s round-up.
Vet Visit – Simon’s Cat
The Internet is full of cats. And one of the most prominent is our very own animated favourite, the cat that belongs to Simon, aka Simon’s Cat.
This isn’t your usual comedy anime short, the video sees Simon’s Cat have a chat with Cats Protection HQ for some advice on how to best care for your feline friend when it needs to go to the vet. Maybe Charlie McDonnell should take some notes after the recent purring addition to his family.
This is all in preparation for their film, Off to the Vet, which, after a successful IndieGoGo campaign, is going to be released in the New Year! We can’t wait!
BOOK COVER REVEALED! – Carrie Hope Fletcher
Carrie really is like our big sister, and as such we love to support her in everything that she does. Many YouTubers are delving into the book publishing game and we are really excited to see her new project, a book titled All I Know, which is going to contain anecdotal advice on ‘growing up gracefully’.
It’s great to be able to be taken along for the ride with these off-platform projects with our favourite YouTubers. Good luck, Carrie! Who’ll be next for a book deal..? Only time will tell!
This Girl Can | Sprinkle of Glitter
Being fit and healthy isn’t just about having a six pack (although we can assure you everyone at TenEighty HQ is ripped and on a raw kale diet). Being fit is about being comfortable in yourself and not feeling intimidated by your surroundings.
Louise Pentland speaks candidly about how she feels about being fit and healthy, and backs this campaign for This Girl Can, and let’s be honest, we’re all going to need a bit of a health kick in the new year after the Christmas binge. Just kidding, we’re ripped – remember?
If you want some more, we’ll give it to ya…
Winter weddings are the best, even more so when they’re with the best couple on the Internet (it’s true, we checked), Candice and Bribry. Their vows are tear-jerking, so watch the little clip here.
For those of you not into the Simon’s Cat video, perhaps you’re more into puppy cuteness. If so, then watch this video from Rose Dix where she and her lady-friend, Rosie Spaughton, finally gets her new puppy. It’s cuteness overload!
If you’re still in need of a distraction, check out our Christmas Extravaganza. It’s really rather good! That’s all for the Weekly Round-Up in 2014. Your writer thanks you for reading. May your festivities, Christmas related or otherwise, be merry.
