Well the weather outside is frightful. And the Internet is so delightful. And since we’ve no place to go. Watch a video, video, video…
Hey, don’t roll your eyes! It took us a whole 3 minutes to come up with that pun-tacular opening! But we’re well and truly in the Christmas mood here at TenEighty so our advent gift to you is our selection of this week’s best videos from the UK.
Granted, this is a gift we give you every week. But shhh, we won’t tell if you don’t.
Christmas Life Hacks – Doug
He’s back again with another edition of his Life Hacks series. This time Doug Armstrong has kicked it up a notch in a festive scene at the Creator Space in London.
From decorative napkins to neatly storing tangled fairy lights, we’re hoping Doug might pop round to TenEighty HQ and sprinkle a bit of his festive wizardry. Either that or we want one of those homemade Reindeer jumpers…
British Slang Ft. David Levitz – Calum McSwiggan
Who doesn’t love a good tag video? And who can resist when it’s got a couple of attractive gentlemen talking about British slang in it? American David Levitz has been in the UK the last few months and we’ve happily taken him under our wing and now claim him as one of our own. Hands off LA! He’s a London boy now!
However, in this collab on Calum McSwiggan‘s channel, it doesn’t look like he’s picked up much of the lingo while he’s been here. What are Hundreds & Thousands anyway? What’s a rubber when it’s not a material or something used during a woohoo? These questions and many more are tackled here! Do you think the boys missed anything?
Winter Warmers with Helen Anderson | Collabmas Day 8 – Hazel Hayes
Daily Christmas vlogs have become a must on any YouTuber calendar, and Hazel Hayes is having a particularly good go at it, with a series of collaborations filling our subscription boxes in the run up to the festive season.
She is joined by TenEighty Magazine cover star Helen Anderson, and they talk about all the lovely garments that are going to keep you warm and cosy, but also fashionable this winter. Oh, we do love a bit of knitwear! We’re a particular fan of the jumper-dress. I’m sure some of the fashionistas at TenEighty HQ will be rocking that at the Christmas party!
What Actually Happens at Sleepovers – Bethan Leadley
It’s common knowledge that girls make out and have naked pillow fights at sleepovers, right? Well, the newest TenEighty Magazine cover star Bethan Leadley and Hannah Witton have put together this short collab smashing those perceptions. Sorry everyone, the dream is dead.
To be quite honest, sleepovers at TenEighty HQ main revolve around cheap Prosecco and vol-au-vents. Very little making out happens… except with that new life-size cardboard cut-out of Connor Franta that came in the post. He’s so dreamy. Anyway, we empathise with the majority of this video. How about you?
White Christmas – Bing Crosby [Tom Joseph Law Cover]
Tom Law recently rebranded and stuck a ‘Joseph’ in the middle of his name. Could this have been a hint to Joseph the carpenter (AKA Jesus’s Dad) just in time for the Christmas season? We can smell some tentpole-ing, Tom!
His name may be different, but Tom Joseph Law is as lovely as ever and hitting those high notes like no British YouTuber can. (Apart from Saz Close, obviously, she is our queen).
This is a joyful cover of a Christmas classic which will hopefully get you in the mood for the snow that is meant to be just around the corner.
What better time to offer you more than Christmas? We’re feeling SO GENEROUS!
Ed Stockham is an animator who also makes some interestingly quirky videos and also wonderful comics. This video offering revolves around circles… and why not? Take a look at the video.
Finally, Christmas is never complete without bubbles in it. So here’s our favourite young comedian (now sporting a fringe), Laura Bubble, crying through the megaphone on behalf of all us singletons!
That’s your lot for this week. Did we miss any videos out? Then Tweet @TenEightyUK and tell us or find TenEighty UK on Facebook.
