It’s that time of the year where we get to eat chocolate to our hearts content and get all dressed up. Oh, and of course get freaked out by things that go bump in the night…
One of the best things about this time of year, apart from the above, is watching the masses of creative videos from the YouTube community. Here are Five Of The Best from the Halloween season! Boo!
5. What NOT to do on Halloween – LaurBubble
Sometimes all we need to do is sit down and have a good laugh. Laura Bubble is one of those people we just can’t stop watching because, well, we just can’t stop laughing! Known for turning real life awkward situations into hilarious sketches, Laura goes through more costume changes than a Nicki Minaj tribute act.
In What NOT to do on Halloween, we particularly enjoyed the rendition of Princess Leia, complete with cinnamon buns. Hopefully one day Laura will teach us how to achieve such an incrEDIBLE look. Get it? Cinna… moving on.
4. The Pumpkin Saga – GaryC
It’s fair to say the premise of this video by Gary C is fairly tragic. Nevertheless, like a true performer the show must go on – utility knife at the ready.
We were rather impressed by the finished product in The Pumpkin Saga, a simply but stylish Harry Potter themed pumpkin. We also received a #PlusPumpkins package from Google+ – see our reactions on Twitter.
3. How To: THIRSTY VAMPIRE – Marcus Butler
Halloween make-up tutorials are nothing out of the ordinary on YouTube, so check out The Style Slice for a few of our other favourites. What makes How To: Thirsty Vampire refreshing is having a fella do a make-up tutorial!
Our favourite Marky Butt Butt speeds through this classic look and it’s pretty obvious this isn’t his first time wielding a contouring brush. Normally we’d be gazing longingly into those green eyes, only the white contact lenses are freaking us out and frankly it’s all a bit traumatic. *covers eyes*
2. Spooky Scary Slurp – KickThePJ
Everyone loves a good cuppa and a chat, so PJ Liguori joins our Five Of The Best with the latest addition to his Slurp series. Stay tuned to this video to hear about the weirdest YouTube Halloween party ever where Emma Blackery dressed up as a caterpillar chainsaw maniac. We can’t confirm whether this party actually happened, but we like to think it did.
In fact the only thing we enjoyed more than this video was reading the comments about viewers Halloween plans. They gave us a gentle reminder that we should probably look away from our computer screen and do something for Halloween.
1. Ghosts Aren’t Red – Jack And Dean
Now before you accuse us of being lazy for including this same video in two articles, please understand Ghosts Aren’t Red was too good to pass up for Five Of The Best: Halloween. Though while you’re here, check out what we said about the video in our Weekly Round-Up. It’s good.
Not only did we enjoy the laugh-a-minute style of the video, we noticed a sneaky social commentary after having a peak in the comments. Listen out for it. Social commentary. Literally. The video also ends with a message about Jack Howard and Dean Dobbs starring in a new Bloomsbury Theatre show – find out more about seeing them live in our interview with the boys.
Bone appetite!
That’s your lot for now! We’ve covered pumpkin carving, Halloween make-up and festive parties. Check out our Five Of The Best: Prank Videos or Five Of The Best: Cover Songs for more.
