We’re being battered by hurricanes and pumpkin spiced latte adverts, so we must be well and truly into the depths of autumn now. And with Halloween round the corner, it’s starting to get a bit frightening outdoors. So let’s stay indoors and watch some YouTube videos!
And where better to start than the best of the best selected by the Internet’s most respected YouTube publication?
…Yes, we gave ourselves that title, what of it?
The Youtube Movie Deal Tag/We Are Here For You: Neafcy
Have you ever watched an interview or tag on YouTube and wished that you were the one being asked the questions? Your opinions are so interesting! Well one of our favourite series, The YouTube Movie Deal, which has been hosted by Paul Neafcy for the past few months, is now being expanded to include everyone!
This isn’t just any tag video, it’s a tag video with a build up, now you too can answer the questions that Hazel Hayes, Chris Bingham and Jack Howard answered. We can all pretend to be YouTube famous for one video!
This is a good excuse to start making your own videos! So open up and answer Neafcy’s questions about your favourite films, which ones make you cry and which ones you would pass down to the next generation. Get those iSights working!
Did Jack Die? | JackVsLife
The answer to the question in the title is no, and we are so very happy to see Jack Burke return with his unique brand of well-edited vlogs. We are perplexed at how well this vlog flows from precarious handheld shot to the next and are of course looking forward to his future offerings; we are hoping for more bike tours of the city of London (please, Jack, start wearing a helmet!) and stories of living in abandoned office blocks.
Oh God, we wish we were as cool as him!
Blink 182 – Going Away To College (Cover by BriBry, Danny Gruff and Dave Giles)
There isn’t a day that goes by that the TenEighty team doesn’t wish it were the ’90s again. Those were simpler times, Spice Girls, grunge culture and Tamagotchis (before they were an app). Which is why we every now and again like to see one of our very own YouTube musicians cover a track from that era, and even better, when THREE of them collaborate!
The ever-glorious BriBry helps out Dave Giles and Danny Gruff cover the Blink 182 classic Going Away To College. Do you pronounce it ‘one eighty-two’ or ‘one eight two’, we are genuinely curious.
Anyway, plug in your headphones and rock out, albeit in a slightly folky way. Also check out the details of Dave Giles upcoming FINAL tour. Exciting.
Demma Plays… PokéBoop! – Garry’s Mod
Nerd Cubed has some of the most entertaining Let’s Plays on the web and we especially love it now that Dan has teamed up with Emma Blackery (aka Demma), to partake in some foul-mouthed game-play.
In this video the two fight to the death in a Garry’s Mod field based on Pokémon Gold & Silver’s Goldenrod City. Do these Pokémon battle in the conventional way? Of course not. They are rag dolls that are used to pummle the opposition into submission. Look out for the Feraligatr soaring sky attack and the Electrodes that seem insistent on exploding. Also, majestic Charizard is SO DAMN MAJESTIC!
4 AUTUMN LOOKS 4 DAYS | Patricia Bright
Patricia Bright is too damn perfect. We love her vlogs that provide an insight into her married life but also her beautifully put together look books.
Autumn is finally here and we’re promised by Patricia that “all we need is a good coat” and she wears simple ensembles topped off with a glorious statement piece in the form of a autumnal/winter jacket. We’re going to be trying out some of these looks in the near future.
We’ll be honest, we’re running out of plays on the word ‘more’. But we always like to give you a little extra every week, so here’s a few more of the best!
We are fans of Jana Dam’s, formerly A Friendly Arab, and she’s made good pals with Niki and Sammy Albon. Here’s a lovely little challenge video featuring the three of them.
We lose our minds ever time we hear that Miranda Sings is going to be in the UK, and the last time she was here she filmed with some of our absolute fave vloggers. One was Louise Pentland, and they talked about baking Tyler Oakley into a pie and also what kind of meat they like. Classic casual conversation. Check it out here!
Missed last week’s round-up? Or maybe our cover story with Louise Pentland? Then check them out! Or for something different, why not our interviews with PJ Liguori, Tim Hautekiet and Bertie Gilbert on their Hollywood funded shorts which were debuted at BufferFest this week (There even be some bonus Benjamin Cook in there for you too!).
