Top British YouTubers have signed up to promote Oreo cookies on their channels.
Emma Blackery and PJ Liguori are among the creators preparing Oreo challenge videos. Some YouTubers are believed to be earning more than £2,000 for their participation.
It’s not the first time YouTubers have been paid to promote popular treats. In 2013 YouTubers including Dan Howell and Phil Lester produced videos to promote Kelloggs Krave breakfast cereal.
The promotion was organised by their YouTube network ChannelFlip. It’s thought that a new wave of Krave challenge videos are also being produced.
Product placement of sugary foods is not allowed in television programmes in the UK, but no such rule applies to online sponsorships at the moment.
